Staying at the Coniston Hotel on a two night package, we had dinner included on the first night at Macleods Restaurant. We debated whether we should select the Huntsman Bar or Macleods and were so very glad that we selected the latter. This is one of the best dining experiences that we have had. The service was excellent, as was... More

The restaurant has two distinct dining areas, it has a lot of character and the addition of a piano being played during the meal adds to its charm. The extensive menu offers a superb range of fine dining which is served by very professional staff.

We ate in the restaurant on Sunday night. We liked the room, the fire and the ambience. The starters were great however the main course was a real let down we had the pheasant burgers they were tough and over cooked. The waiter was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive.

We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated at our table as staff continued to work around us collecting dishes. When we eventually were taken to our table we were not even offered a wine list. We then had to request a wine list only to have to ask again. The food was very good but the extremely poor... More

Excellent quality food & service provided by the chefs & hard-working staff. We enjoyed a 3 course meal as part of our ' Dales Dash ' package offered as part of an accommodation package by the hotel. The 3 course signature menu is normally a very reasonable £34 per head. I started with Mushroom soup & my wife the pate... More
