We enjoyed a beautiful meal here just the two of us, I ordered the Goats Cheese starter and then we shared the chateaubriand which was simply amazing! The setting and ambiance is wonderful. After dinner we enjoyed a drink in the bar and I can personally recommend the Eldertini. We hope to be back soon. Thank you

Went there for my friend's birthday. Had to call three times before I was able to go through someone who could help me with this reservation. Finally I managed to book and asked for a birthday plate for my friend - they said no problem we will take care of it. Once arrived the old classic mansion looked impressive, and... More

Classic old school fine dining. Decor is kind of outdated but that is part of the fun. Staff was delightful. Food delicious. The Chateaubriand was served the way it deserves - a feast for the eyes and the palate. 2 course comes in at 40pounds, which will just be perfect for a normal eater taking into account bread and amuse... We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here.Starting in the Champagne lounge beside the log fire, we then ate a very pleasant meal followed by dessert. We again relaxed in the bar until it was sadly time to return home. Thankfully we live locally and can visit again.

My husband and I dined in AG's as part of a stay at Alexander House Hotel. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty. The setting was formal but not stuffy, so we felt relaxed. The serving staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgble and made the experience very enjoyable. If you are staying at the hotel it's definitely worth a... More

AG's is advertised by Alexander House as 'fine dining'. What is 'fine dining' these days anyway? It's an old fashioned, out-dated phrase for restaurants that belong to a thankfully bygone era. We ate at AG's on New Year's eve. It was laughably over-priced at £130 per head and the food was average, large-party, pre-prepped wedding food at best. The food... More

Firstly, I have to admit that the service was excellent. However, I was really looking forward to this meal but was left feeling disappointed. I cannot see why it has 3 rosettes? I'm baffled. The food was nothing more than average with the impression that the menu/chef is trying too hard. Points to note: • Overpriced • Overwhelmingly over seasoned... More

The service lacked the attention to detail that you might expect from an establishment. Our party was moved to the basement function room without prior knowledge. An unfortunate aroma pervaded from the toilets and we were actively discouraged from using the champagne bar - told it was busy when in fact it was empty!!! Could do better.

went to AG's during a celebration spa break at Alexander House Hotel. The food, service and wine list was exceptional. Im not sure why it hasn't got a Michelin star. But well done them for having other food awards. My blackberrys souffle was to die for.
