We went there and had a couple of good meats (lamb, beef on the chimney fire) and everything was delicious.

This is a typically Swiss restaurant in the middle of Champex village - its warm and welcoming - with a menu of raclette and lots of other Swiss favourites and a great wine list with a huge variety of Swiss wines. Its not cheap but...then nothing is in SwitzerlandMore

We stay in Champex nearly every year and before have had pizza in this restaurant, which has always been ok. This time, we ordered the very expensive beef fondue. The meat chunks we were given were old, tough, oxygenated, and some were rancid. When we...complained, we were told to put the bad meat to the side, and later when I showed it to be impossible to cut the meat even with a steak knife, we were offered a coffee 'on the house'. It was a very poor performance, and we will never go back there. Adieu to Mr Crettex and cie.More

I have to admit I did eat here earlier in the week, with my wife and had a wonderful assiette valaisanne and Fondue de bolets, however this is for the annual lunch with my skiing buddies. Delphine, in charge, remembered us as we arrived and...gave us a warm welcome and liquid refreshments on the deck so we could enjoy the sun. Once inside, we tactically made sure we covered most of the menu as some of the choices were difficult and much sharing was going on. We'll be back next year for sure.More

Although this restaurant is in Switzerland, and the menu showed no pricing units, as in Swiss francs, when we paid the bill the management insisted on euros, which are worth far more at present than francs. In other words, they imposed a surcharge without notice....Possibly worse, the mushrooms on the pizza were from a can, practically a sacrilege in this lake community that celebrates its fresh and varied mushrooms. Finally, the waiter insisted on selling us water in a bottle when we requested a carafe, although adjoining tables received free water. Really, we can't recommend this restaurant.More

An afternoon off from skiing invested in a long and delicious lunch. The staff were helpful and patient with an increasingly merrier table of 10 and helped with menu suggestions.

The restaurant looks cozy inside, so we decided to stay, which ended up being a big mistake. The service was very unfriendly, almost hostile, even though there were only two tables occupied in the restaurant. One person in our part had a steak and that...was pretty good, and came with real potatoes and a salad. Two of us ordered the chicken cordon blue which I am very certain came prepackaged and frozen, and was baked. And our French fries were also previously frozen and fried and were not all that great. And considering what we got it was fairly expensive.More

We arrived at early noon time and unlike other places the apartment was ready for us. Fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom with strong stream of hot water, comfortable bed. We prepared our own lunch and needed some ingredients which were generously supplied by the hotel's...restaurant. The supermarket is just on the other side of the street which is very comfortable. View of the lake from the terrace. Recommended!More

The rooms have a nice layout and the location was central. The staff are friendly. Make sure to read the fine print about whether the wellness center (for sauna and jacuzzi) has reopened yet.

This is a really nice non pretentious pub/restaurant. We had got lost and dropped in for a beer and a little help. Next thing you know we are on the phone getting directions, now not lost. We went back the next day for lunch not...expecting any thing special...WRONG The fish from the lake was a real winner with a simple salad and French fries. Perfect. The poule with French fries divine. It was so nice to experience the ambience and culture of the place. English is spoken well by all. The wifi is free and good for the alpine areas. Sit at the bar and you get the best reception and really cold beer.More
