Location of the restaurant is in the palace itself (it may seem strategic at the start) but after having your meal be very sure to have your own driver to send you back as it's extremely unsafe, no street lights or cabs available. To sum things up, food is mediocre not worth the hassle as there are better restaurants around... More

Having had many gastronomic and ambiance very positive experiences dining in India, we looked forward to dining with the Amber fort. We should have known better. The restaurant seemed to cater to group tours, our waiter was rude, the food was mediocre and the furnishing were well-worn and not in a good way. There are much better dining experiences in... There are places which serve good food, others which have courteous servers, some others with good music, but rarely do you find any which take 5 stars for all of the above and even more. The menu was impressive too with a mention of specialty dishes from specific royal families. A full moonlit night, sprawling, dimlit courtyard and a perfect dining... More

After spending an hour in traffic jam could finally reach this place. The ambiance is grand though the carpets and upholstery needs more cleaning. Decor is nice, food good. Tip: please check what is available prior to finalizing your wishlist of what to eat in a royal manner. People are friendly and courteous though service is slow but no harm... More

Loved the place, the ambience, the royal surroundings, the decorations, flowers, candles and the food and hospitality ofcourse. The owner, Mr. Sanjiv Bali is a maestro at hospitality and creating an unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant manager, Amresh is superb in taking care of all is guests. A must do place for all.

Four of us walked into the restaurant on Feb 11 evening. The restaurant hardly had any guests. We were told that the place is booked for a group of 35 and we should speak to the Manager who reluctantly let us in after we pointed out that there was enough room to accommodate us. Food arrived quickly in silver Thali... More

A Fine Dining Experience'Rajputana' now known as Rajasthan was the land of many princely states which includes Jaipur . 1135 AD derives its name from the year in which the Kacchawaha clan founded the dynasty. The royal cooks worked in the palaces and kept their recipes to themselves. Some recipes were passed on to their descendants and the rest were passed on as skills to the chefs. Our chef takes anectodes from the royal cooks and brings forth the true culinary valour of the 'Rajput Kingdom'. The restaurant is divided into many sections. The Shahi Aangan, is centrally located and is open to the sky. The Swarna Mahal is the main restaurant and the Diwan E Khas is the boardroom for business meetings. The Sheesh Mahal is for private dining, entirely from silver and gold, it dazzles with royal, old-world charm. Flickering candles bring alive an era gone by.Rajput valour, glory and grandeur- this is the essence of 1135 AD, Amber.
