My husband and I ate here in Feb. We had the fillet steak which was a little overcooked but still very nice. Nice atmosphere good choice which includes a reasonably priced 2 or 3 course menu. Would recommend it for a treat

We visited here to get out of the wind and the rain on a blustery day. There was a warm welcome and the service was excellent. My husband chose the bay crab carbonara and I had the mussels and chips. Both meals were delicious - very tasty and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was relaxed and unhurried and we were ready... More

We escaped the February wind and rain for a cosy lunch for two. There was a good list of specials, including grey mullet, which my partner had never had before, and which he pronounced really good. I enjoyed a very moreish crayfish and mussel Spanish -style stew, with potatoes and croutons, which I enjoyed mopping up with crusty baguette. The... More

Two for lunch. Choosing from a quite adventurous menu (Crab for breakfast, anyone), we opted for Baked Potato with Atlantic Prawns, and Baked Potato with Vegetable Curry. Presentation very good with attractive vinaigrette salad. Potato nicely fluffy and very tasty. Attentive service. Good value and will visit again.

I visited the Hungy Trout twice during a short stay. Good menu with of course plenty of fresh fish. Friendly efficient staff found us a table despite being really busy. Lovely to sit on the balcony in front of the restaurant looking out to sea as the weather was beautiful.

Since I wrote a glowing review nearly two years ago, I have been back to this lovely restaurant, again at New Year and most recently for lunch in September. Just wanted to say that on both occasions the food, service and ambience were first class; this restaurant really is a consistent winner.

I called earlier in the week and I was so pleased they could fit the 4 of us in for the following Saturday. It turned out to be the firework evening in Newquay and we were delighted to have the table in the window, what a view! The food was excellent, the flavours delicious and the staff attentive. Can't wait... More

Had Sunday lunch here yesterday. Oh my! Firstly we were seated in the large table over looking the sea. It was a lovely cosy restaurant and the view was outstanding. Sunday lunch was delicious, there was a vast choice from lamb to vegetarian choices. It was so good and we were served quickly. My son had a child's meal and... More
