First of all a big salutation to La Petite Tonnelle for its willingness to stay open all year round even in the depth of winter. Pretty much everything else in Beynac was shut up tight except for the Chateau which soldiered on. We loved the ambiance and the fact that the rear was part of the cliff face. There were... More

Delightful restaurant. Somewhat limited menu and even more so off the prix fixe 2 & 3 course selections. When here on two successive nights in the beginning of November because almost everything else was closed for the season. LP Tonnelle was packed with both locals and tourists. The servings sizes are somewhat modest by any standard but the flavors are... More

We enjoyed a meal with entree and main course for 23€. The presentation and flavor of both entree and meal were well worth the price. We had soup or goat cheese and salad for entrees, and veal, pork, or fish fillets for main meals. Everyone enjoyed their meals completely.

We were welcomed warmly into a delightful space that has been hewn out of the rock face giving it a special character. The room was decorated attractively and cheerfully. The heating was welcome on this cool day. Explanations of the dishes were given to us in English with helpfulness and good will. The staff (probably the proprietors) were patient and... More

This is the only restaurant that provided rude service in our three week sojourn in France. The food was good, but staff was surly, uncaring and acted like we were being favored in getting to spend good money in the restaurant. Despite having a reservation, and there being three other empty two-tops, we were given a table just off the... More

Dear Rmauzy we 're so sad to read your comment, and a little bit suprised to be honest when you mention that our staff is rude !!! If we did not accept your table swap it was certainly because those tables were already booked and not because we did not want to please you. Best regards More

This is a very good restaurant in Beynac de Cazenac. Staff are friendly and helpful, and have some English to help. Prices are moderate compared to lesser restaurants. The rack of lamb that I had one night was to die for!

We're staying in Beynac for two weeks and chose La Petite Tonnelle for dinner on our first evening because it's within walking distance from our rental cottage and others' reviews were generally positive. We anticipated enjoying multiple dinners there. Sadly, our first experience will be the last. My husband's veal chop with morel sauce was tasty and the eye was... More

Pretty location in the village below Beynac Castle...very flexible menu choices but we opted for the traditional set lunch at 19 euros for 3 courses as we find this is the best way to get a local taste. We started with a huge salad of goose gizzards, smoked duck, lettuce and walnuts which sounds unusual but was very tasty...followed by... More

Very enjoyable experience, excellent service, good wine list with a broad selection including regional Pecharmant. Our meal was fantastic: a butternut veloute, a local freshwater fish called "lingue" with a sauce made with local giroles mushrooms, and dessert was 3 wafers stacked with a curry-spiced pastry creme!
