Bon app's is a lovely French bistro with French staff and cosy atmosphere. If you want to have a bit of France flavours with traditional meals, go for it. The food is well proportioned, the atmosphere is not pretentious, service is good and the food is...nice. They do their own baguette on site and I would recommend them to sell some of them to their customers. They change the dessert every fortnight .Expect around 50$ for 2 courses and a glass of wine. I strongly recommend it.More

Visited with friends and ordered one of the day's specials, a Cassoulet. On a cold winter's night, what could be better? Well - this cassoulet was a real disappointment. Instead of a stew, the beans were dry, lacking moisture. The meat had not been incorporated...into the mixture but merely plonked on top. It was as though it had been baked in an oven rather than stewed.More

I’ve been to so many bistros / restaurants in my search for the perfect cosy French bistro in Melbourne. I found that nothing really replicated our experiences around France - too stuffy, too formal etc. I booked Bon Ap’ on a whim for my husband’s...birthday and didn’t expect much. Let me tell you - everything was perfect. Down to earth staff who are so friendly and thoughtful, GREAT food and the perfect, cosy, cheerful vibe in the bistro. This is it, this is our place now. Thank you, Bon Ap!More

We had family dinner in this cafe Friday night. This small cafe is placed in old building on the one of the central streets of Fitzroy, so first of all parking has to be found. Did it! The interior has a Sharm of the building...itself with some new design futures which likes like old, such as wolfs from used pallets. Service was good. Staff was friendly. We didn’t drink wines. We took homemade lemonade, mangoes and strawberries fussy. We had snails, octopus, beetroot eggs with caviar, liver pate, tureen and croquettes for entree. For main we choose steak tartare, gnocchi, lamb and mussels We finished our dinner with desert which contained pear tart, chocolate mouse, cream brûlée and chocolate cake . All dishes were delicious. It was great dinner.More

We decided to give this restaurant a go and boy, were we happy that we did. The food is really great and what makes the place special is the atmosphere and the service. For appetisers we shared the croquettes and the snails. Both were great....Our mains were steak frites and mussels. My wife had the steak and she said it was the very best she had in a restaurant in a long time. The pepper sauce was also great. I had the mussels. They were a perfect size and I also enjoyed dipping the bread in the broth. The side was ratatouille and this was also tasty. Desserts (chocolate mousse and the pear tarts) also delicious. To finish it off we had an espresso which was piping hot, as it should be. Again, the service was great and although we missed out on a holiday in France this year, we had a lovely taste of France at Bon Ap’ this evening.More

Quaint bistro that is just like being in France. From the decor, the staff, the wine and the food selection they are all reminiscent of all of those cute bars and restaurants that you frequent when travelling. So no need to travel, just go to...Bon Ap''Petit for the unique experience. A stunning array of charcuterie followed by Moules and frites and washed down by a lovely Longuedoc region what more could you want.More

We were upstairs nest to a group of older school kids, no doubt on an "immersion" excursion, and had no trouble carrying on a quiet conversation between us.
