What a fantastic place to enjoy super high quality and lovely food. Wonderful service from a young man called Steven. The atmosphere delightful and breezy. We were in the area and we both have been here a long time ago. That will change. We must come more often. And to top it off, great value for money.

Great venue, good food, lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced. Not your ordinary pub. The menu has a vast variety even offers kangaroo meat.

Dropped in here for a catchup lunch with friends and the service and food was great. Good range on the menu including specials like wallaby and kangaroo with good options for the kids too. In a great location opposite the Carlton Gardens to walk off any over indulging too!

This pub, hidden away from the hustle of the city, serves as a fantastic venue for a large function or a quiet beer and great pub food. The service is exceptional, the food is great and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I have organised functions of over 100 people in the St. Andrew's Conservatory (connected to the pub) with absolutely... More

Notice the crumbed schnitzel had no pan marks. It had been in a deep fryer. It's easy to spend $75/Head here for a simple pub meal of below average food.

Vin and Mrs Merlot attended a function at St. Andrews Conservatory for our daughter Petite Merlot, which is part of the Pumphouse Hotel. Cocktail party event but with seating and tables for those not in their 20's. organisation and re sponsiveness first class. Food and service also first class. Highly recommended as a function venue. Well done Pumphouse.

We were struggling to find a place for NYE dinner and luckily we found this hidden gem. The food was great especially the suggested steak by the staff was amazingly tasty. The staff were very helpful and service minded. Value for money is 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽Must try if you are in Melbourne.

Attended a work Christmas function in a group of 8, so with a busy room at a busy time of year one could excuse things for being not quite right. The Staff were AMAZING, attentive, friendly and prompt. Gastro pub meals were very good with something to suit everyone on the menu. Will be happy to go back.

Thank 111jenny

Staying in Fitzroy

Neighbourhood Profile
Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots, hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic. Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll find little independent shops where local clothes and furniture designers display their wares. There are specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its cuisine and art galleries, but if you want to buy an old-fashioned snooker table, there is a shop for that too. Small pubs still exist, tucked away on the corners of suburban side streets that serve up traditional Sunday roasts. Live music abounds, and the street performers play so hard you worry to tip them would ruin their concentration. Venture to the Spanish quarter on Johnston Street and you may even find street dancing. It is all happening amidst off-beat street murals and the shuffle of a very funky neighbourhood that embraces both old and new.
