I'm not sure how they always get it so right in this place? Perfection can't be possible so I'll keep coming back just to see these guys slip up one night ... I'm still waiting.

Tucked away just outside the cbd, Cutler & Co is unassuming from the outside. Walking in you’re greeted by flaming culinary action from the lively kitchen. This is a highly regarded upmarket restaurant but it’s anything but stuffy. The restaurant has a lovely lively buzz....Love the elegant decor and ambiance created by the moody lighting. Service is charming and flawless from start to finish. Wonderful food menu - there’s a set 2 or 3 course menu, and the tasting menu. All the dishes were superb- beautifully balanced and picture perfect presentation. The wine list is like an encyclopaedia- so much choice. Amazing night out - highly recommended!More

Cutler and Co. is a fine dining restaurant that delivers great food in a lovely setting. We ate in the bar area, which was a little less formal than the adjoining dining room, but gave a great view of the open kitchen. Service was, as...you’d expect, very professional, and they had no problems adapting the menu for a gluten-free meal. Apart from Saturday, when you are locked into the $150 a head degustation, all other nights you can choose from the degustation or the $75 2 course and $95 3 course menus. The 3 courses is great value for the quality of the food on offer. Location is classic Melbourne – Gertrude Street Fitzroy surrounded by cafes, art shops, a grocers and with a tram stop almost out front of the restaurant. Highly recommended.More

My partner and myself booked in for a double birthday celebration on Sunday 7th February. I chose the two vegetarian options from the $75 two course menu. My entree was a slice of a tasteless tomato, a few mini tomatoes, no flavour and 1/4 tsp...of cheese. When our lovely waitress asked how it was, I said, sadly not good. We were given some lettuce and baked potatoes to make up for this, My main course war a soggy black rice dish, no eye appeal and again lacking in any flavour. And why ask on the booking site if this is a special occasion? Nothing in response. Sadly, our happy memories of a smart, value for money Cutler & Co a distant memory. $98 for a bottle of French Rose a bit over the top. Jill ThomasMore

Food was incredibly overpriced at $150 per head. We went there to celebrate my son’s birthday. The waiter presented us with a mini chocolate cake and charged us $20 for it. What a rip off! Overall we have already spent in excess of $900 on...the bill. We raised a complaint and was told that this was the usual practice.More

Back in January 2020 we experienced a great meal but unfortunately experienced a staff member that wasn’t having a great day. This was bought to the attention of the management and much to their credit they wanted to illustrate how they “normally do it”. Getting...through Covid meant that we had to wait our time, we returned just recently and I am thrilled to say that the highly acclaimed reputation of Cutler & Co is warranted. Our welcome was warm, the service was professional and courteous, the food was fresh and flavoursome and the room had a fantastic vibe. Kudos to the whole team we will be back and thank you for showing us how well you do it.More

This is a classy, stylish upmarket restaurant in Southern Fitzroy, uniquely with the open kitchen in the front bar area. The whole place is extremely cool and the service is unobtrusive but excellent. The menu is short so a little challenging if the dishes aren't...to your taste but everything we chose was delicious, as was the wine. It's not cheap, but it's worth it, especially for a special occasion. Our only one gripe was that we'd originally viewed the menu in the window which we hadn't realised was the bar menu and there was several dishes that we liked the look of; but when we asked if we could chose those we were told that we'd have to move into the bar. This seemed petty as the restaurant wasn't full and we struggled to find dishes we fancied on the restaurant menu. This felt like process over customer (something we encountered frequently in Australia!)More

Having visited several fine dining restaurants Cutler delivered in every aspect. We had the summer chefs selection. The chef balanced fine produce, depth and creativity. The wine was superb and the service outstanding. The interior design and ambience was modern and very relaxing. I highly...recommend this experience.More

Just finished a really great meal here. The food was delicious from start to finish. The wine was excellent. What really made the meal great though were our servers Antoine and Anthony. They went out of their way to advise us about food and drinks...at the restaurant but even more spent time advising us on where to go here and in Tasmania. They made the meal truly spectacular and made us feel special. Can't recommend Cutler and Co. high enough.More

We had dinner on a Saturday night. There were guests dining in the bar area who were dressed casually (jeans, sneakers) and others in the main dining room who’d dressed a little more formally for a special night out.

Street parking - and free after say 6:30pm. But at busy times there will be a fair bit of driving around. Cutler & Co is a 15min walk from the Eastern end of Melbourne CBD and on a regular tram line.
