There are plenty of Fine Dining or Pub Grub places in this area but the Hour Glass, in Sculthorpe Village - 5 minutes drive from Fakenham, positions itself as a mid-range restaurant. The food is all home cooked, delicious and plentiful, with a good selection of menu items and daily specials. Prices are very reasonable. Staff are friendly and helpful.... More

The only bad things i can say was that the restaurant was quiet and i didn't have room for dessert!! Right the good bits. When we arrived we were the pleased with the real ale and lager choices. The specials are clear to see. We were shown to our table and the staff were all very nice. The food all... More

Clean, good choice of food, service good, parking easy, but there are better restaurants in the area.

This restaurant was only a pub doing food ,but has now moved to food as its priority. Food excellent if not a bit expensive

Took my mum here for Sunday lunch, there was a set 3 course menu or off the normal menu or specials board, wide variety of food . The food is very nicely presented and always takes good. The deserts are delicious a The only criticism is that the whole restaurant lacks atmosphere or a focal point. It is laid out... More

This is a restaurant - with a reasonable bar, I grew up here when it was a Public House, it is far from that now... they serve a large selection of dishes to furnish many eclectic tastes, It is clean and the service is good, TBH the food is ok, quantity and freshness seem quite balanced, but there is an... Myself and boyfriend had gone to Norfolk for a short break at the end of September and we found this little gem. It didn't seem much when we walked in and wasn't too busy (out of season) the outside being like an old pub but inside modernised a lot. The menu had good choice and although I very rarely have... After all the great comments on Trip adviser I decided to take 30 people to Lunch. The food was excellent value for money. service good. They let them selves down on the price of their drinks £3.50 for a small wine, and other drinks were equally expensive.

We regularly visit this restaurant to enjoy fantastic meals with an enjoyable desert of Lemon Syllabub with Mango Sorbet which is to die for! We have never had a bad experience here which is why we go as often as we can.

The food was brilliant, the variety was so good I wanted to try everything on the menu! The price was also brilliant, so we ordered a starter and a main but with large portions the main would have been enough on its own. The only down side to this place is the décor, it was like we were eating in... More

Fanatasic restaurant slightly of the beaten track which was recommended by the manager of the The Sculthorpe Mill which you list (and is excellent as well. Ate there this weekend - owners are clearly trying to offer something a bit different that sits between the many "fine dining" estasblishments in North Norfolk and the cheaper pub grub. Really hits the spot and to be honest was far better than both the Globe and the Victoria (Well & Holkham) where I have dined recently. Please give the owners the recognition they deserve.
