Typical English pub with high quality in the food. We taste the pie and the typical fish&chips... All was fantastic. I'll be back.

We regularly dine at the Hermit of Redcoats and always have a fabulous time! This Sunday though, I felt I wanted to write a review as the food and service were exceptional. A great welcome when we arrived, starters absolutely delicious. I chose the scallops...More

My wife and I visited for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary in June, and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised with how good Hermit of Redcoats food was. There was a slight issue with my main, where I ordered the Fish and Chips to...More

We've eaten here many times and met up with family for lunch last Friday. Light lunches are quite reasonable (£8 for nice sarnies and chips) but the cooked meals can be a tad expensive (£15). However everything is homemade, even the tartare sauce! You do...More

Haven't been for a while, and didn't realise that it had been taken over. Liked the new look, but where was the food? Very limited lunch menu and stupid high prices. August and no salads on offer, who wants a fry up or liver for...More

Celebrated my son's 21st birthday, wanted a great meal in good surroundings, close to home. It was a perfect evening, we only had one course but all our meals were delicious as was the wine and the service was excellent.

We went here today, 5 August, for lunch with friends, our first time. The menu is rated as an upmarket, fairly expensive restaurant. The service was all right but very disappointed with the food. I had a leek and potato soup which was thickened with...More

Hi my only complaint was the menu because there is very little choice for vegetarians. Looking at the menu from my memory it hasn't changed. I even asked if the chef would do a mushroom omelette for me but the answer was... More
