I really love eating here. So far have been for lunch, dinner and Sunday lunch and always received top service and beautiful food. The beef on the Sunday lunch is the best I have had. Suitable for family and also romantic meals. Definitely my favourite place so far since moving to the area.

Dear LannyB, Super review, thank you so much. The beef we use is local, from award winning butcher Gribbles, we even get given the number and information on each individual cow the topside joints come from. There was much thought and trial involved in choosing this supplier, as we pay three times more per kilogram than you would from other... More

Friends took us to this place, which we had not visited before. We loved the idea of a changing monthly special - depending on seasonal availability of vegetables and fish in particular. Our starters - mine was roasted pigeon breast with a lovely sauce and condiments - were outstanding, and the main couses we had were truly superb. The service... More

I cannot praise the Weary Ploughman enough- we visited twice in two days, once in the evening as a couple and also with our toddler and grand parents for lunch. Both times the staff and food were amazing. Our toddler was catered for perfectly, allowing her to have a smaller sized adult meal with the all important 'off the menu'... More

Dear Bronners123, Well my wife is jumping up and down with delight and saying 'I told you so!!' as I read your fantastic review. She is the one who has persuaded our fantastic chefs to explore meat free dishes along side our regular plates, as both she and daughter are vegetarian for ethical reasons. Their passion really lies with meat... More

Although they were busy and we hadn't booked, we were made welcome and were able to sit in the bar area until a table had been cleared. My husband had the Sunday roast - and the staff were happy to deal with my strange request for fried eggs instead of the meat. A good selection of vegetables accompanied our meal.... More

Dear Linda K, Thank you for taking the trouble to post your great review and I'm really pleased you noticed the loo's (our personal ethos is that any establishments toilets are a good indication of the cleanliness elsewhere, that the public don't get to see!) - Maria and Julie work so hard to keep the oldish infrastructure scrupulously clean -... Lovely place, very friendly and helpful. The drinks were good, food was awesome. Had a great time - can definitely recommend. Only down side was slow service - but they were busy. And toilets accessed outside - maybe build a porch!

I eat here frequently. Staff are friendly, and very efficient. On this visit we enjoyed the Tenderloin of Pork, and an excellent Rump Steak, very flavourful, and correctly cooked. We enjoyed a good cheese plate to follow. Wines are reasonably priced, one never feels rushed. No apologies for delivering another good review, entirely deserved.
