Set in a quiet and pleasant rural location with an ample car park. My friend and I visited at Saturday lunchtime. The waiters were friendly and helpful throughout even when the restaurant got quite busy after an hour or so. I chose a couple of...More

Went on Saturday night of the May Day Bank Holiday and it was very busy. We had booked, which looks like a requirement on Weekend evenings. My ribeye steak was very good, though my French-fries were a teeny bit underdone. All staff were very polite...More

I ordered the burger and the chicken was dry and the bun was just a cheep one from Asda, would expect more for the money. DON’T buy a voucher I had to argue to have change for a £50 voucher on a £22 meal.More

Have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. The menu choice is excellent, the food is well cooked and nicely presented. Service is discreet, didn’t feel rushed even when we were the only remaining customers. nothing is too much trouble.

We last visited a couple of years ago and it wasn’t great so we thought we would give the Black Horse another go as Bedford and the surrounding area isn’t exactly blessed with much choice when it comes to decent bistro pubs serving British food....More

Description
The Black Horse is a family owned Inn with character and style set in a small hamlet in Bedfordshire. The Black Horse was built in the 17th Century, and although it has been updated and given a contempory style, it still holds its charm and character. With it's exposed original beams, inglenook fireplace and low ceilings, the bar is warm and welcoming - perfect for relaxing with a drink or a glass of wine. The restaurant consists of two distinct dining areas each offering their own unique style and atmosphere with either garden or courtyard outlooks. Our seasonally changed menu's use only the freshest ingredients sourced locally (where possible). The dishes are expertly prepared and presented by a team of highly qualified chef's.
