Tasty Japanese with very friendly staff. We had dinner on a Friday night, the food was delicious. We had the miso eggplant, gyoza, soft shell crab hand rolls, spicy tuna rolls, tofu in miso and the ocean trout sashimi. The restaurant is not fancy but the staff are lovely and the food worth the visit.

I have been dining here for years and have always had a very enjoyable experience. The food is great very fresh and tasty. The staff are very nice and efficient. If you get a chance try out the shoes off traditional Japanese seating. You do not have take your shoes off if you do not want to they also have... More

The food was delicious with a very extensive menu. The sashimi was so fresh. Service was also very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This is my favourite Japanese restaurant. Conveniently located in Kirribilli village, some traditional Japanese seating, fully licensed & helpful friendly staff. Our place to go to on a regular basis.

Over the years Ainoya has served delicious food with a menu that provides choices for all tastes. Last night was no exception. Four diners, every dish was immaculate in appearance and taste, The service is professional, courteous and knowledgeable yet friendly. The wine list is good, sake menu great. Reasonable BYO option. Book a sunken table (suits 4 pax). My... More

We usually go to North Sydney and Crows Nest for Japanese but we wanted to head in a different suburb. Food: fresh, good quality, a little salty for my palate, quite a nice selection Price: I could definitely get better run for my money back North Sydney Staff and Surroundings: Polite but for some reason each table is "reserved" and... Service not so good. We ordered gyoza and drinks first while deciding our meal. Drinks came and then we decided to order mixed sashimi, agadashi tofu, tempura noodle soup, and chicken teriyaki with rice. Unfortunately, all of the meals aside from gyoza were already served and I had to follow up for it. Really defeated its purpose of being an... More

By far my favourite restaurant in Sydney. Quality, clean, fresh food and great customer service. Been so many times and the food standard and service is always consistent.

Good Japanese food but so much protein and not enough vegetables or salad or rice to balance the volume of protein. We ordered a set menu for 10 people. It was ok but nothing special. Parking is difficult and limited.

Been here a few times in the past but hadn't been for a while. There are better Japanese restaurants around so it must lift it's game. Nice decor, good service just ordinary food.
