I was greatly surprised and impressed by the quality of food and of service. It is a big space and I thought it might be a bit institutional. Far from it. We had a delightful young waitress, who guided us charmingly through the menu, which was very interesting and had something for everybody. All the food choices were excellent, the wine list was good, and the service was excellent. This is a serious restaurant and is priced accordingly, which must come as a bit of a surprise to anyone expecting a cafeteria. Highly recommended.

On our second winery of the day on our wine tour. My daughter’s research with family, friends and colleagues all suggest this winery is internationally known for its wines. During the wine tasting of five fine wines (Premium Tasting) at $16 USD for the two of us. The wine selection was awesome and one of the finest wine we have had in Australia. We also ate at the restaurant which offered two pre selection of Entree, Main Dish and Dessert. For $95 ) ($60 USD) AUD for the two course or $125 AUD ($80 USD) for three course meal. The three course meal was very good as my selection was the King Crab Pasta, Beef Eye Fillet and Strawberry Dessert. Excellent combination for the value.

Went here yesterday to the restaurant and from the time we entered to the time we left our waiter was excellent. I wish I had took his name but his kindness and knowledge of the food we were ordering was outstanding. He even went to the trouble of organising the dessert plate to be written in Chinese so that our friends mum was made even more special He was the reason we enjoyed the night so much

Our visit was a special occasion to farewell family members who are relocating OS. Personally I was excited and very much looking forward to experiencing this well known restaurant and felt very spoilt. Walking up to the entrance is very grand, …. The boa tree wonderful. We enter the building and the noise was very noticeable, … then you see that they charge each person $10 to actually walk around the grounds and look at the sculptures! Perhaps when your about to blow $600 or more on lunch they might give you a pass?? 🙄 2 out of 4 of us did the wine tasting . $10 a head for a standard tasting. If you purchase a bottle you get $10 off. When it was time to be seated we stood in a queue to wait until a table was cleared. No table cloths, no placemats, … ordinary cutlery. The acoustics in the area is terrible, …… you needed to raise your voice to chat, and it was difficult to hear the waiters. Between the 4 of us we had assorted dishes for the 3 courses ( you are charged for 3 even if you prefer not to have 3 courses!) …… presentation on the whole was very good, … unfortunately I don’t think any of us tasted something and were blown away . The bill came to $629 that included one bottle of white wine and a small carafe of red. In my opinion it was a ludicrous amount of money for an average meal in a noisy environment. The views and sculptures look grand from the restaurant’s sweeping windows, ….. we were lucky to have a table right on the window , but if you looked toward kitchen area we looked down a corridor that had cleaning bits and pieces or something, ……. Maybe a screen would be appropriate. The building itself is modern and has a wow factor, …. But I am afraid I would never ( nor would the others) ever go back OR recommend. There are a lot better restaurants on the peninsula with better food, ambiance and service.

Drove over 1 hour from central Melbourne to this place. It was drizzling and howling with strong wind and we were glad when we made it into the restaurant from the car park. The venue was nicely decorated and lots of Chinese looking people were taking photos probably for social media posting. The wine was good but on the top end of the price range. We booked for lunch and were seated promptly. The server, from her accent, was probably an eastern European lady. She greeted us with a smile and asked us if we wanted sparkling or still water. When we asked for just tap water, she stopped being friendly. From there the service just went down hill. There were 5 of us and we ordered several different dishes. The starters were all nice but the main course was disappointing. The beef steak was ordinary and slightly over cooked from what we asked for so it was hard to chew. My lamb dish was too gamey. The worse was served last... the coffee. For such a venue I expected a much higher standard for the coffee at the end of the meal. It was so ugly and looked like it was made by a drunkard who just anyhow made the coffee. When they were served, I mentioned to the lady server that they looked ugly but she pretended that she did not hear me, turned her head and just walked off. Overall it was a waste of time to have travelled all the way just for this below average experience. After the meal we were given free tickets to see the few sculptures on display at the estate. The ticket which was worth A$15 each if we were to pay for it. I am not an arty person so I am not sure if it is worth the money if I were to have paid for the tickets. In conclusion, if you are short of time in Melbourne, don't waste your time on this place.

Four of us attended Pt Leo today for lunch. We have been to Pt Leo for quite some time and have always enjoyed our experience, however today was not an experience we would like to repeat. We understand there was a fire at Pt Leo months ago and it was closed through lockdown and winter. We were so excited it had reopened and looked forward to enjoying lunch there today, but unfortunately that did not happen. We arrived and were taken into a makeshift din8 g area, which was fine, we totally understood they were still renovating where the fire had destroyed. We were offered still or sparkling water, and those that ordered sparkling were given flat sparkling water twice. The menu was given to us and it was not a menu to choose from, but a set “share menu”. The entrees were bland and not to standard. The two mains whic were shared were also not to standard. We were offered cheeses, th8 king this was part of this new sharing menu, only to be charged, above the price, and the dessert had no taste at all. The main was Barramundi, over cooked and very small portions, the steak, was already sliced, and chewy, and very little amounts per person. For all of us who regularly dine here for lunch it was a huge disappointment. The service of staff was ridiculous, two people organising wine, which became confusing, we were bombarded by four or five people, definitely overkill and intrusive. Our glasses of wine were empty too long, and the staff had no idea of what wine to serve first, and then trying to get us to taste the second wine while we had not finished the first bottle. In total, a very very disappointing experience, one we will not return to until the restaurant is renovated and operating.

Attended Saturday night. My wife when she booked casually mentioned it was my Birthday. The service and food was excellent. Some restaurants have taken a while to get back in the swing of things post pandemic. Not this one! The service staff from the moment we entered where on song from the host, to the wait staff and sommelier. Very friendly, professional, and attentive without being over the top even though it was a Saturday night with the venue being busy and booked out. My youngest daughter who is a fussy eater asked for a plainer version of her dish (the snapper) which was accommodated without fuss. My eldest daughter and wife had the barramundi for main and I had the eye fillet with the king crab pasta for entree. All were superb. I can’t rate this restaurant highly enough. We had the tiramisu for desert and cheese platter (mine with the obligatory birthday candle! ) Can’t wait for a return visit.

Very disappointing dining experience. We booked a table for 2 and when we arrived we let them know we were celebrating 2 significant birthdays and the waitress proceeded to seat us at the worst table in the restaurant, right in front on the kitchen servery which was very noisy when tables next to the window were free. Pre meal drinks order had to be taken with the meal order because the waitress disappeared as soon as the drinks menu was delivered so not really pre-meal. Made our dietary requirements really clear both in our booking and prior to ordering. Despite this, main meal arrived with noted food intolerance included in the meal despite being assured it would not be included. The main was also not warm let alone hot. The side dishes only arrived after being requested. Dessert was not as described. Now I have to deal with feeling unwell due to inclusion of the dietary restriction item, this dish was removed from the bill but the damage is done. This was a favourite restaurant but not any more.

We all had the $85 two course option but the mains were nothing special and incomplete. For that price you expect meat and several vegetables not 3 tiny pieces of leek. They got the bill wrong and charged for 2 extra meals we didn't have. Our initial drinks order took 20 minutes despite plenty of staff wandering around. Was tempted to help myself when the drinks just sat on the counter for so long...

My wife and I both thought that our Sunday evening dinner experience ticked all the boxes! A two-courses option was in fact available to us, despite indication to the contrary on the restaurant's website. Our dishes were of high quality, and lovely to look at - with the mussel curry-and-greens entree perhaps the standout. Both the house-baked bread and the gluten-free roll on offer were delicious. Our selected wines, whilst pricey, were outstanding. In addition, our two waiters were very impressive: knowledgable; happy to converse with us whenever we engaged with them; relaxed and cheerful!

Very attractive property but we were seated next to the kitchen/servery. The room quite noisy. Fun and friendly wine service from Anna the sommelier. Not a large wine list by the glass. Interesting menu but not quite fine dining. I disliked the sponge soft focaccia served with oil.The Zucchini Flower presentation and quality not as high as the other super fresh veggies. My mussel starter in curry sauce very pleasant. Our goat roulades on the tough side. Cost soon mounted. Yet again charged extra to use a credit card. But a handsome restaurant.

Three women excited to enjoy a delicious lunch together at Pt Leo Estate were very disappointed with the food and the ignorant service. The girls welcoming us on arrival at the front desk were terrific. One main course fish dish was served ‘raw’ therefore necessitating that we all waited whilst the kitchen cooked another “very, very small” serving of the same fish. The same female was served a dessert not as stated on the menu - Chocolate Profiteroles. Apparently there was a small amount of ‘white’ chocolate inside the tiny round profiterole. White chocolate is NOT chocolate. No sauce or icing whatsoever coating the three ‘tiny’ balls. They were coated in a breadcrumb of some sort.....horrible. We politely complained about the fish and profiteroles to the waitress who fobbed us off. In a top-class restaurant the chef would have briefly came to our table and more than likely would have at least deducted the charge for the fish. We’ll never go back there again.

This restaurant is set with views over the sculpture park. It was very popular when we were there which meant our request for a quiet out of the way table did not eventuate. Neither did we have a great culinary experience. We chose two courses off the set menu and were able to mix one with an entree and one with dessert. Of the entrees whilst there were six options on the menu two were raw fish and two others we were warned contained enough chilli to be reasonably hot. This reduced our option to a burnt basque cheesecake which had the texture of a quiche and was overpowering. The mains were also mixed. The woodfired snapper was delicious but the zucchini and grapes were a little over soaked in lemon which detracted from the flavour. Alas the charcoal chicken was underdone and had no charcoal texture to it but came out like a terrine. Dessert was the highlight being a passionfruit and white chocolate mousse which was delectable as was the thick layer of salted caramel underneath local flowers. The coffees were good as was the wine selection. Our primary server Josh was also very attentive and friendly. Overall it was a disappointing experience.

We live locally and have supported Pt Leo Estate as a venue for our gatherings since opening. We were very excited to visit today and looked forward to the wonderful platters of meats and cheeses that we had grown accustomed to in the past. Unfortunately the menus have changed so dramatically that we will be unlikely to return until we hear that the food and prices have improved. The food was very very average and the prices were ridiculously overpriced and not commensurate with the food we received. The presentation was extremely poor and the servings were tiny compared to what we would have expected for the price. There was very little to choose from on the menu and what we did choose was disappointing in every possible way. Why are there no charcuterie platters or cheese platters that we could order to have with our wine? When we first visited Pt Leo Estate we thought we had discovered our “go to” for our regular weekend visits. Unfortunately it will now be back to the drawing board for our friends and family.

Delicious night out at the Pt. Leo Estate restaurant. Wonderful venue, impressive service and delicious food make dining at this place a memorable experience. Whilst not being cheap, 2 courses for $75 or 3 for $95 represent value for money. Highly recommended!
