It's pretty much like a Ramen, without the soup ! Their recipe is amazing. I used to go twice a month. Very traditional mood.

Ramen in a bowl with whatever extras you want. Order your preferences at the machine and give the tickets to the staff.

First Ramen I ate when I first moved into the neighborhood. It was delicious and very hearty. At first glance you would think it's like any other ramen in Japan but no, this ramen restaurant doesn't have a broth base soup, instead it switches to oils to flavor on your own liking. From the thick noodles, great amount of chashu... More

Great Ramen and awesome atmosphere. Had an English Menu and English "How to" add condiments to Ramen. One of the best Ramen meals I've ever had. Love the fact that there is a No Smoking restaurant.

I have tried a few in Tokyo and would say this one is my favorite. It has only 15 seats but you don't have to wait long. Just pick your choice at the ordermachine and enjoy the delicious noodles. maybe if you not know how to eat the waiter will show you this. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Honestly though...I have never had noodles like this before or since (despite attempting to replicate them at home several times and failing). We came here 3 times in 1 week, and then again the week after to introduce my visiting brother. Advertised as ramen, but different to what you'd expect - quick, friendly service, outstandingly delicious, amazing value.... Just go... More

Amazing food. We went to this restaurant 3 times in 2 days. It was insane. We still dream of this food. Enough said. Eat it.

This seems like any decent traditional ramen shop at first glance, but is has a very distinctive style of preparing the ramen. They are not in a soup but in an oily sauce, in a standard bowl some pork roll and nori is added. Staff does not speak English, but they have an english manual on how to order and... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
