After sightseeing in Shinjuku, and the disgusting display of excessive wealth that is the hotel in "Lost in Translation", we decided to scout the streets to collect our sins over a glass or two of wine. This was the first place we came by where the menu seemed to be reasonably priced, and the staff were willing to accept us... More

The restaurant is located near Kaminari-mon, so it is easy to find. It`s in a basement so you do not have any windows / views over the busy streets nearby. I ate salads, pizzas and italian cutlet, very good.

You wouldn't think you're at the heart of one of the busiest cities in the world when you descent the stairs of this Miami Garden restaurant. It's peaceful and nicely decorated and the service is (as I love about Japan) swift and friendly. I had a seafood spaghetti and the fish was super fresh. Small downside as my wife ordered... More

The Japanese have their own spin on the American adaptation of an Italian original ... and I wouldn't have it any other way when I'm in Japan ... I can get American versions of food in America. There was plenty of choice on the menu, the staff were friendly and helpful, the place was clean and also very quiet -... More

While staying in Asakusa for a week this was one of the places we ate since it was walking distance from our hotel. We ordered one of the pizzas with egg on which was new experience for us and found to be surprisingly good. The restaurant was clean the staff treated us well. We were there on New Years Day... Need a calm place to wind down from the streets? This is it. Nice place, few people, take off your shoes and order some beer or soda. We are pizza, and it does not resemble the famous Italian pizza so much, but it was OK. Ok enough and if you add it up with the calm environment it's a place... More

Down below street level, a comfortable place to unwind. I needed to rest while my partner showed our friend the Asakusa Temple. The server spoke good English so I was able to order easily and of course with a picture menu which also had English description. I just ordered a large draft beer with chorizo and potatoes. The chorizo was... More

I don't understand the negative reviews! This place is great! The 4 cheese pizza is a must! Also enjoyed the juxtaposition between semi-fine dining and the gangster rap music playing in the background! Will definately go here again! (Have been here every time I've been to tokyo.)

We had on our trip to Japan hunger for pizza. But -> Worst pizza we've ever had! Cocktails also very small with a little bit alcohol. Avoid!

I was with a large group. We all were served salad (sweet dressing) and spaghetti - cold, dry and really just awful tasting. I mean it was BAD and I'm pretty tolerant of non-Asian food served in Asia. Just don't bother, why the hell are you eating spaghetti in Tokyo anyway?!

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
