We ordered a set menu with salmon and beef and a gyudon with cheese. Those beef was too thick and not so tender with lots of fats and the taste wasn't delicious. The cheese was meant to be sprinkled not melted on top the beef like I've tried in Sukiya. I used to dine Yoshinoya's gyudon in my country and... More

Good quick food from a known Japanese chain restaurant. Varied menu; they have menues in English. Not a place a vegetarian can eat.

Im a yoshinoya regular in my country but still eat here when I visit Japan. Food is definitely tasty but serve way too much fluffy high quality japanese rice compared to the amount of beef. For the heavy rice eaters it isnt a problem. But for me, i need more beef. And dont know how to order more. And if... More

If you are in Shibuya and you are looking for a quick but healthy and delicious bite, this is the place. My favorite rice with beef bowl and nato, you can leave Japan with out having try this. The service is like in all Japan, a valuable plus, all the young staff speak fair English and they are very helpful.... More

Dropped in for a simple local Tokyo style breakfast with the locals. It was great. This is simple food but it definitely gives you a sense of not being a tourist.

Yoshinoya....everyone's all-time-favourite. Value for money....quick and no-fuss. Pictures on menu for people like us who don't read Japanese. Food was not bad ....and it's cheap. Yoshinoya in any part of Japan is still better than any Yoshinoya in other parts of Asia countries.

There seemed to actually be many 24hr ramen joints in Shinjuku that I could have had breakfast at, but I followed a review to this place and had salmon, rice, raw egg and miso soup for Y550. No English but a picture menu and you pay afterwards. It's definitely fast food - it came out in 2 minutes - but... More

I must say that everyone who visit Shinjuku have to try their Japanese version of Yoshinoya. Very different from the Jakarta version since they have pork menu, salmon menu, and raw egg menu. But, sometimes you have to wait to have a seat. Full of people. :D It costs around 500 yen.

Yoshinoya is a life saver for the busy office goer, the famished shopper or even the budget travelller. It is famous for its fast service and no fuss environment and mainly its outstanding Guydon [Beef with Rice] at very reasonable prices. It is packed with office going men, so women might find it awkward in there, but no one bothers... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
