Delicious dishes, the chef uses the best ingredients, and he is not afraid to innovate. If you want something not on the menu, just ask him and he will whip it up. I have never been disappointed there.

My girlfriend and I recently had an opportunity to dine at Romana on a recent trip to Tokyo. Our lovely Japanese friend brought us here for dinner at the recommendation of her boss. The chef and staff at Romana are so extraordinarily lovely! They went to great lengths to make us feel welcome, even though we speak very little Japanese.... More

Absolutely loved stumbling across this tiny pizza bar beside the beautiful Imperial gardens in Shinjuku! Not much english, but we got by with one of the chef's little english- they also had a pizza menu in english. We went with the affordable lunch menu which gave us a large margarita (like Italy!!!) a salad and drink for 1200 Yen. I... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
