Located in central Shinjuku, Imahan restaurant offers excellent traditional Japanese food such as Sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu. The quality of the food is excellent and it is beautifully arranged. furthermore, there is a menu in English (quite uncommon for traditional restaurants) and even the waiters speak a bit of English. There is also a business lunch menu for reasonable prices.... More

The sukiyaki was amazing, all three pieces of it, and the shabu shabu was pretty good, all four pieces of it. We only chose the quality beef and not the high quality one but the 14000 yen price tag was a little hard to swallow. That said, the service was amazing and we both still managed to be full.

This is the best sukiyaki I've had in Tokyo! There are three types of beef that you can pick for sukiyaki or shabu shabu - standard, quality or premium. This is my second visit and I've still chosen the sukiyaki. The beef melts in your mouth and is so flavourful! The first time I went was for dinner, the restaurant... More

Prior to our trip to Japan, we were recommended by friends to go and eat at Imahan if we got the chance. Went there our first day in Shinjuku for lunch and was not disappointed! I had a Yakiniku set meal (can't remember exactly which one) and my partner had Shabu Shabu. We both enjoyed the food tremendously and will... More

I went in for dinner with a friend and had the wagyu beef sukiyaki which was delicious. Very traditional Japanese sukiyaki. The meal with a few drinks ended up costing around 16,000Yen (around A$200) which I think is expensive. The beef is very high quality so I guess it reflects the price

Imahan is a must visit for me every time we are in Tokyo. The quality of the tofu and vegetables are always good. The beef really is the star of the show. Normal beef is already good and the superior grade beef even better. The beef dipped in the egg, what more can you ask for. What I found surprisingly... More

Had early dinner for shabu shabu here with all of the family, and it was really something! Service was really great, we were served by a Japanese women wearing kimono, who didn't speak English very well, but somehow very kind and served us very well, that all of us even enjoyed the food more. Tasty and quite pricey.

Good quality fatty wagyu beef slices. Don't be shocked to see only 3-4 slices per set per person. We were initially worried that it won't be sufficient. But honestly coz these are really fatty meat, we were full after 3-4 slices each. The sukiyaki is definitely more unique. The way they do it is very different from the way I... More
