My husband needed a place to sit and have a beer as I stood in line at the near-by post office to send some Christmas cards back home. He came across this Mexican Restaurant a few doors down on the main floor of a large office tower. I joined him for a bite to eat after finishing at the post... More

El Torito in Shinjuku is fairly fast for lunch during the week and the food is a little south of the border. If you are familiar with El Torito in the United States the Shinjuku branch is similar except the portion sizes are smaller. Good restaurant.

We stayed at century southern tower and this restaurant is just down the escalators from there so we thought we would try it out after reading good reviews, and I'm glad we did! We ended up going twice for dinner and both times the food was delicious, atmosphere was great and service was fantastic! Absolutely recommend a trip if you... More

Went for dinner on a Thursday night around 8pm, had to wait for a table, only took about 5 mins. As soon as we sat down we were given a complimentary bowl of corn chips & salsa. Meals only took about 5 mins to come out after ordering. Food was very tasty and pricing was very reasonable! Would go back... More

Very tasty and well priced. English menus too. We both had the beef enchiladas and enjoyed them. Plenty more to choose from.

Don't get me wrong, the food here was nice. We had the large banquet for 3 people and a couple of cocktails and beers. The carpaccio was particularly delicious. But when it came to paying at the end of the night, we noticed a little unwelcome addition to our bill. There was the regular 8% tax (of course), and then... More

Ordered different dishes and my impression was that they use the same oil to fry everything so at the end the taste you get is a strange mix. And the price is not especially cheap. I wouldn't actually recommend to anyone.

I was surprised at how much smaller the meals looked in real life compared to the pictures but the taste and free corn chips and salsa more than made up for it. My mum had the calamari and a salmon & avocado salad. The salmon & avocado was delicious but the calamari was average. I had the fish tacos and... More

We happened to find this restaurant just by luck. It was my first experience with Mexican food and I went here with a lot of expectation and this place did not turn me down. The food here is very nice and ambiance is quite Mexican. Ample place for a larger group and good tables for couples as well. The service... More

We were snowed in the building so we decided to try out this Mexican restaurant. We were not disappointed at all. Nice food (even though a little adapted to the Japanese taste), good drinks and a young, good looking crowd.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
