Had to go to Tokyu Hands, so decided to head there early and stop for coffee / bite nearby first. Overall was enjoyable - coffee was fine, not great, but perfectly enjoyable. I had a croissant basically to try out the patisserie, and was slightly disappointed. The croissant itself was fine, but I really expected something a bit special, which... More

My take on Brasserie Viron is that it is a bakery first, restaurant second. This is reflected in the way the restaurant is set up (the first floor sells baked goods/cakes and the second floor is a restaurant cum dine-in area) but also the overall quality of food and service at the brasserie. The main dishes here are old school... More

One Sunday evening, we passed by with my family and wanted to enjoy a nice Dîner for our last night in Tokyo. The restaurant was half empty but the reception was quite cold and the maitre D wanted to check if we had a reservation. Obviously we had none and eventually he accepted to find us a table for the... After reading a blog post on five of the best patisseries in Tokyo, it was with great excitement that we headed to Viron. The boulangerie/patisserie has many different pastries, cakes and breads available for takeaway, as well as a bistro upstairs. Unfortunately, the pastries and cakes were a little overrated. The pain au chocolat was a bit dry and the... More

This place sells super delicious French pastry! Recommend the lead shaped pastry with apple sauce inside! It is so good that my husband and I wanted to get one more. Do note this place is pricy. Pastry goes between 250 yen to 1000 yen. But please try at least one piece!

The pastries and breads are fab. Highly recommend the kougin amman - worth every yen of the 400+¥ price tag.

you will think you are on the Left Bank, except for the bean paste croissants. Light, crusty and delicious. There is a cafe upstairs.

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
