Sakana-Tei is one of those places where after entering you find yourself forgetting to be in London. This restaurant is like being in Japan as everything is authentic. Staff is Japanese. Interiors are Japanese. Food is utterly Japanese, meaning of outstanding quality. Whatever I tried I gave it 10/10! And this jem is also good value for money as you... More

This place near the Shibuya Tokyu department store is arguably one of the most famous one of the many small izakaya which offer a large selection of sake. The food is creative and fresh but more importantly they have one of the best-sorted sake selections in Tokyo. Each one gets a thorough description and the staff is glad to help... More

This was a bit difficult to find but well worth it. We felt we were being entertained in a private home or party due to the cosy size of the room. We did not make a reservation but were welcomed like old friends and sat at a communal table. The young female chef spoke a little English and there is... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
