I wanted to give a higher rating just for the wonderful freshness of the vegetables but the inattentive staff and bit stingy serving of meat caused me to give a four out of five ratings. Although not inexpensive, the price was reasonable for higher end shabu shabu in Tokyo.

There is so much here that is offered, but it is fun to go with a group and try a little of everything. Including their fine Saki. I still not sure what all I ate, but it didn't matter it was excellent. As they said in Japanese its delicacies that you can't just have anywhere. So why not.

We ate here our last night in Japan after traveling for two weeks and loved it. Don't worry about it being in a mall - it's really Japanese and very popular with locals. Sit at the bar and chat with the cooks if you want the real experience. It is expensive, but the food is great. I like meat and... More

Great spread of veggies. Great service at the counter. On the pricey side. Not too much to rave about the meat.

Very nice place but inside a mall, so that was a turn off. Good vegetable dish's and a wide range of different types. My steak was fatty and over cooked so the brought out another one that was much better. I did not ask for another they just seen my disappointment and did it on there own. Drinks where a... More

Our hotel recommended this shabu shabu spot but it was just ok. First of all, it is hard to feel like you're in an authentic Japanese restaurant when it is located on the 5th floor of a mall. A mall that looks like anywhere USA at that. The restaurant is known for its fresh vegetables and they were fresh but... More

Best welcome I've ever had in a restaurant in my entire life on the entire planet! As soon as I stepped in the restaurant the staff welcomed me warmly, calling me by my name! :-o I really dont know how they knew it was me!! Maybe because i was 30min late, which is something that does not happen in Japan...... More

Yasai ya Mei is a place you can have lots of vegetables together with your pork Shabu Shabu. The veggies and mushrooms are fresh, some are rare, tasty! You can also choose different kinds of broth, we picked the herbal broth (+ 500 yen each person) and it is nice. The set comes with the appetizers are well.

Tokyo friend took me to this outlet at Ronponngi Hills. The place specializes in vegetarian Shabu Shabu, and for meat eaters you can order the Pork and Beef Sirloin sides. Service is great and friend, and we tried the standard miso stock.

We came here for lunch. With very little knowledge of the language I'm not sure what we ate but we chose a menu option that allowed us to sample lots of little dishes. Lots of fresh vegetables and unusual flavours. We sat at the bar which added a nice touch as we could view the chefs at work.
