We have mixed feelings about this place. It has been rated very highly on both blogs and tripadvisor however it was a bit of a letdown. We did not have a booking on a Sunday evening arriving at around 7:30 PM and were surprised to see that the restaurant was not very busy at all with only 3 other tables... More

Read excellent reviews about this restaurant so we made an effort to make reservations. It was well worth the trip. So far, best tonkatsu we've had in Tokyo. If it weren't so fatty, we would have ordered more!

You get to pick the region of where your meat comes from but also how fatty you want the pork. They have unlimited rice salad and soup but you have to ask for refills. Their dipping sauce and salts match perfectly with the food. Probably the best tonkatsu I've ever had. On the pricy side but definitely worth trying when... More

This restaurant specializes in deep fried pork cutlet. It is housed in a little house in a residential neighbourhood 10 minutes walk from Ebisu station (google map was great). Enjoyed the food and the ambience of the little house.

A hidden local treasure and pork lovers dream! A small restaurant down a side street, definitely worth going to. Amazing food and great atmosphere, if your looking to have an authentic Japanese pork dinner this is the place.

Went recently on a friend's recommendation - place is cute and service v friendly along with an interesting best of the '80s soundtrack. We ordered a more classic lean cut and one which had an interesting richer, more livery/offaly flavour. Both were delicious. They come with pickles, cabbage and sauces/dressings. Not one for every day if you value your arteries... More

This place is still one of my favorite places in Tokyo, if you are looking for a traditional experience and you like Tonkatsu, this is definitely a place to visit. Ask for the mozzarella starter even if it's not on the menu, it's delicious.

We had dinner at this place. Ordered 4 chops for 5 people to share. Instead of one serving of cabbage & pickle per order (as listed), just "one" for the whole table was served. Refills on it (as listed in the menu) never occurred. For a piece of pork in that price range they definitely should make a bigger effort.... More

I stumbled on this tonkatsu place on a previous business trip and vowed to bring the family here. Family enjoyed both the Pork loin and tenderloin choices, and even the basic cut was good enough. Was very disappointed with the super premier cut brought in for the season which was rather tough - not worth the extra cost. Stick to... More

Having tried different Japanese style meals for a few days, tonight was a Katsudon dinner. My son and his pal guided us to Butagumi with the aid of Google map. The place is quaint and as we slid the entrance door , we walked up a narrow flight of stairs and were ushered into a booth . Had to take... More
