I had some amazing food in Japan, but this place was (for me) by far the best. I had an amazing Tonkatsu. I'd had Japanese style pork cutlet with curry before, but this was a whole other level. The fried pork loin they brought me was so juicy and delicious. And the restaurant was quaint, quiet, and just what we... More

The concept is simple. Choose which breed of pig you want to eat, and if you want a lean or fatty cut (fatty is highly recommended). Proceed to indulge in the juiciest, most tender fried pork chop you've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Crispy outside, a torrent of juices inside. All you can eat cabbage (dressed with a delicious... More

Such a cute hidden away place - you can find it by looking for the house with the crescent moon. We did not make a reservation and don't think one is critical. We were guided through what tonkatsu to try between tenderloin and sirloin and the regions. Our biggest regret was not having more people to try out more food.... More

Had dinner there recently. Stand alone restaurant in a local neighbourhood.Old style Japanese place, wooden structure. The place has 2 floors, on the ground floor tables and chairs, and on the 2nd floor there is a tatami room (non private). They specialise in tonkatsu and u can choose which cut u want from lean to fatty. I had the aged pork,... More

On our first day in Tokyo we took a train to have lunch at Butagumi. Our local friend had made the reservation. In addition he ordered the 'Tokyo X' Pork which we missed the last time. The Tokyo X was exquisite. It was tasty & the texture was soft. It was the best tonkatsu that we had. Service as usual... More

Hands down this is the best pork Katsu I have ever tasted. The quality of the pork is superb. I tried the watanabe Berkshire from Kagoshima. A bit expensive but worth it! There are two locations in roppongi hills. The one in the north tower near the subway is more accessible.

We have mixed feelings about this place. It has been rated very highly on both blogs and tripadvisor however it was a bit of a letdown. We did not have a booking on a Sunday evening arriving at around 7:30 PM and were surprised to see that the restaurant was not very busy at all with only 3 other tables... More

Read excellent reviews about this restaurant so we made an effort to make reservations. It was well worth the trip. So far, best tonkatsu we've had in Tokyo. If it weren't so fatty, we would have ordered more!

You get to pick the region of where your meat comes from but also how fatty you want the pork. They have unlimited rice salad and soup but you have to ask for refills. Their dipping sauce and salts match perfectly with the food. Probably the best tonkatsu I've ever had. On the pricy side but definitely worth trying when... More

This restaurant specializes in deep fried pork cutlet. It is housed in a little house in a residential neighbourhood 10 minutes walk from Ebisu station (google map was great). Enjoyed the food and the ambience of the little house.
