I stayed at Intercontinental Tokyo bay and picked this out of convenience. Glad I did. Good choice - one of the better ones I experienced in Tokyo this time.

The food as well as the experience was just fantastic. A 7 course meal for two of us, $500, but well worth it.

Although I am a foreigner, I am a huge fan of Washoku (traditional Japanese style dishes). If I choose one place in Tokyo, I strongly recommend this place. Today, we felt pleasant scent of autumn in Tokyo from every dishes. Very dedicated service and also comfortable mood are just bonus to the great meal! Two thumbs up!^^

I made a reservation for a reception and ate a lunch. However, service, dish, all of performances are disappointed. Of course dishes are delicious commonly. However, the restaurant which is disappointing only by there being much number of dishes.

Pricey? Yes!, Worth It? Absolutely! Every dish was more delicious than the last. The staff very efficient and helpful. I couldn't possibly choose a favourite dish, I loved them all. An experience I am really glad I had.

To me, Waketokuyama is the definition of kappo, an elegant experience with the chef guiding you through one of a kind specialties. Don't forget to have the tai meshi, one of the signature dishes.

This modern kaiseki-style restaurant in a beautiful building designed by the great architect Kengo Kuma, with an interior by the firm Super Potato, is worth visiting for the design alone, but the food is exquisite. The chef is one of the most famous in Japan, and everything I had was fresh and bright and delicious. The staff is extremely helpful,... More

I have been to this Restaurant twice in the past year. Once for work and once with my wife. Both times the food was superb and extremely creative and unique. As a non-food critic, it is hard to describe; however, you will not be disappointed. With the set course you will not likely be able to finish the rice, so... More

Amazing place which appeared to be a culinary delight. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. I have made a reservation at Waketokuyama two months in advance after finding it in the Wallpaper guide. The seats were at the counter so we could observe all the preparation process. Very creative cousine, really top people as a public.... More

I'm an American and my wife is Japanese. I've lived in Tokyo for 17 years. Christmas Eve is a special day in Japan so I picked Waketokuyama to have our Xmas Eve family dinner with my 84 year old mother-in-law. What a special evening we had. After a little mix up on our reservation, we were seated up stairs at... More

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
