Took out a group of seven for dinner on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant offers a wide selection of Japanese food, including edamame, karage, sushi, yakitori, tempura, gyoza pizza, soba as well as bagna cauda - plus of course lots of drinks. I know many think this place is just for tourists, and there are quite a few, but I... More

Went there randomly, looking for a good sushi meal. Wasn't disappointed. Chef Daiki-san cooked in fornt of me the freshest and best sushi I ever had. Including eels, salmon and urchin. Great to be able to chat with the Chef and taking time to discover Japanese culture through food. The interior design of the place looks nicely traditional. They have... More

The food at Gonpachi was excellent to during a business visit last week. The yakitori was incredible, the beer was cold, the tempura was perfect - would definitely return. Thank you!

This restaurant is made for tourists, which is why we hated it! Food was uninteresting, over cooked, salty and slathered in grease...so different from the more authentic, local restaurants in Tokyo. We felt rushed in and out - save your money for a better experience elsewhere!

Cool place for dinner when you want Japanese but want something the kids also like. When you sit down its like an outside marker but it has air conditioning. The sushi bar is also a nice place to sit.

Staff speaks good English and were very helpful. I eat vegetarian and they offered to change the ingredients of some of their dishes to make them veg-friendly. I loved the avocado nigiri and mushroom skewers.

After living in tokyo a few years ago the memories of "Gonpachi" restaurant in azabu juban are strong and good. Noe we cam to visit again. We tried to reserve a place. End there was no room!! We had that evening only so instead we went to the ginza branch. What a dissapointment! The food was good (but not more),... More

Just loved the interior of this place as the inspiration to the fight scene in Kill Bill. We went with friends from Tokyo so managed to sample a number of Japanese dishes which were delicious - although our friends say it's not the very best in Japanese Cuisine, but we had to take their word for it. It's a very... More

This is a sister restaurant of the famous medieval castle restaurant which was the site for a dinner meeting between Japan's Prime Minister and President Bush II. Gonpachi Ginza is not as elaborate, but the food is equally good, the staff are very attentive, and the ambience is fun.
