Only see this place going down hill here on out. One of the first things you see walking in is the montage of past celebrities/politicians that visited this location. Key word “PAST,” you do not see anyone from this decade. A huge sign that they...More

Tempura is one of the most recognised Japanese deep fried dishes. While there are tempuras all over places in the world they always come up with the same look and taste. Tenichi was introduced to me last decade and since has been a must visit...More

Had the Ume menu although not necessarily better than Isetan’s location in Shinjuku. Actually Isetan location’s seating at counter is more convenient and more open. The Ginza location, although has charm, wasn’t as comfortable. Certainly the pricing fixe menu was more economical at the Shinjuku...More

This is a very smart Japanese restaurant that welcomes foreigners and serves beautiful tempura. It is expensive but we thought it worth every yen. We ate the bar and the chef set his pace to match the spread at which we ate, so every dish...More

Every time we are in Tokyo, we must eat this at least once for lunch. The tempura batter in seafood and vegetables (cooked right in front of us) is battered well yet light, not clingy/oily and taste consistently great. Keep it up!

We came on Thursday 28th September for lunch after a friend of ours told us he'd "never had tempura like this before". Firstly, we were seated at the table where they cook the tempura fresh infront of you, however we then decided based on the...More

This venerable institution serves exquisite tempura. This restaurant has hosted world leaders like Gorbachev, Chirac, Kissinger, United Nations' Annan and Bill Clinton., who are obviously introduced to the best when in Tokyo. The decor is traditional and soothing. The sign on the wall for one...More

Great tempura cooked right in front of you. We ordered off the a la cartel menu. We particularly enjoyed the scallops and crabmeat. Service also faultless. Not cheap but worth it.

Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's
also a downtown area with shops that were founded over
a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury
boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza.
It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a
collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular
