We all found this nicely appointed restaurant disappointing - first the food. Portions were huge and disappointing in flavour. eg.my rabbit was dry and uninteresting. My partners octopus smothered in vegetables and croutons. The service although friendly lacked expertise eg serving the second bottle of...wine directly into our glasses without offering a tasting. The wine list was made up of some good local wines but we certainly did not think the expensive prices reflected value. Not recommended.More

The wines are sourced locally and are delicious! The setting is just picture postcard! Elegant, romantic,...classy and beautiful!More

Excellent food, excellent service, in a lovely historic setting. The chef created wonderful delicacies for dinner, and he received a well-deserved ovation. Local wines were delicious. Traditional Italian and western breakfast options of the breakfast buffet.

We dined several times at Il Chiostro when we stayed at Castel Porrona. The atmosphere is perfect and very romantic in the secluded courtyard. . All the tables are set well apart for privacy. The food and wine were excellent. The chef uses local ingredients....The Maitre d, Amato and Nedo were very helpful. Everyone was very helpful as I am on a gluten free diet. There was gluten free bread, pasta etc. the chef even made me a gluten free tiramisu! However if you have a dietary requirement I would recommend advising them in advance.More

On our honeymoon & staying at Castel Porrona, we had the wonderful experience to dine at il Chiostro. From the wonderful maitre d' (Aneto) to the brilliant chef couple in the kitchen, we had a Michelin-worthy meal. On notice, gluten-free bread for my wife. The...freshest and savoriest salad. An amazing beef cheek in red wine sauce reduction. And a chocolate mousse to die for. All with the help of friendly staff to make our meals memorable! Highly recommend as a destination experience itself!More
