I stayed at Cameron house in October and decided to dine at the claret jug restaurant. The staff were fantastic, from the minute we arrived they were very polite, everything was 'sir' and 'madame'. The restaurant wasn't overly busy as it was a Wednesday night, maybe half capacity. The service was very quick and the food was excellent! We never... More

We had a simple lunch. Great tempura fish dish. Wine overly expensive only draw back and unnecessary. Efficient shuttle service from Cameron House. Staff friendly

Having spent a long and delightful weekend with our friends at Cameron House Lodges where we had 3 incredible evenings at Martin Wisharts, The Cameron Grill and the Boat House we decided to complete our weekend by having lunch at the Claret Jug before we flew back home. How disappointed my wife and I were at probably the poorest burger... More

Enjoyed an evening meal in The Claret Jug at The Carrick last week in preference to the newly refurbished Boathouse at Cameron House - menu at the latter looked very ordinary & hugely over-priced. The Claret Jug was virtually full with diners in a relaxed & friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Food was very good with the Haggis, Mussels & Burger in... More

It's a lovely room and completely convenient if using the Spa or Golf course. In October, however, it had only one lady behind the bar and a man running frantically between the many tables. It was hopelessly understaffed, and I think it showed in a certain lack of cleanliness - there were crumbs of food under most of the tables,... More

For the past 4008 times we have been here for a relaxing tea and cake this wee guy was the best at being a waiter and was always splendid but sadly today he was not in and the service was a bit slow. I don't know his name but it's the wee friendly man he is what makes this restaurant... More

The Claret Jug is an excellent oasis of relaxing luxury, especially after a round of golf. Highly recommended.

Took shuttle over to golf course for dinner. Pate was good. Fish and chips was large portion. Penne was awesome-we added chicken - well done!

Had a there course dinner here and used a 5pm voucher. There was a mix up with the voucher and I had to pay for dinner when I shouldn't have. The food was great really tasty however the service wasn't the best. There were 2 members of staff in the full restaurant. I expected the service to be better considering... More

The food is nice, yes it is a bit pricey but not stupidly so. Personally I think it's worth it for the location, service and the restaurant itself, which is lovely. Doubt I'd go there for a meal and a few drinks because of the price but for a nice lunch/early evening meal I absolutely love this place and highly... More
