We picked up takeaways as it was easier to eat at home with young children. We all had the fish and chips and had to go back another night for more. They were delicious, just the right amount of salad, chips were crisp and the...fish was unlike any fish I’ve ever had. Soft, fresh and delicious and a good portion of it. Although not cheap, it was delicious and well worth it and you weren’t left with the greasy feeling of having had takeaways. It was a great meal. Service was great, food was delicious. We only had Pizzas but nicely made and good pricing. Was nice to sit and listen to the music and enjoy the awesome atmosphere.

Wonderfully relaxed bar and restaurant on the edge of the lagoon, close to Muri. Fantastic Ika Mata, Sushimi, and huge fish sandwiches. A wee tip here, dont try to eat a whole one on your own. Wash down with a cold beer or Pina colada....Perfect in paradise.More

The place overlooks the sea. That’s the only good thing as I didn’t get to try the food ! One meal arrived other one didn’t ! Waiter was very rude & raised his voice Manager was ok but don’t know they were on Tripadvisor I...think they should take a look and get real feed back!!More

Great spot to h a ve lunch or dinner on muri lagoon Food is great had the teriyaki chicken panning lovely. Tried the local beer very nice $5 . Piccolos of processo $8 full 30ml spirits $8 can't go wrong

Great dinner and drinks sitting right on the waterfront. Incredible view of the sea and a fun location to watch the sunset. Cheap and cheerful too :)

This place has a great atmosphere, great food and great service. The live music made it impossible to sit still.

So impressed with Charlie's we returned again and again. Great atmosphere with live music and fantastic, friendly staff. The place gets absolutely packed so make sure you book beforehand and eat early in you want to enjoy the sashimi. Fish tacos are amazing and their...pizzas are pretty good too.More

Firstly make sure you book because this place is busy!!! With live music, darts at the back and a range of food it’s good for all sorts. We ordered the mixed grill platter to share and everything was good besides our fries which seemed like...the bottom of the bag left overs with heaps or small bits. But it was yummy like bar food. Would recommend for a causal dinner.More

A very crowded so obviously popular place, with outdoor tented bar seating & balcony dining. There was live music the 3 times we visited, which was hood & an island dancer one evening. The food was fine, it took quite some time but as stated...is a crowded place. We found it lacked the atmosphere of so many other great venues, people seemed to sit looking at one another waiting, rather than enjoying the location & food.More

Most people come to Charlie’s for the amazing location right on the beach. During NZ school holidays you need to book as it’s super popular and we were lucky to get the best table in the house at the northern end to see the sunset....Live music added to the vibe. IMO the pina coladas are the best on the island and the Mai Tai is good too. Food is only average (and they lost our drinks order) but you forgive them coz of the location. Service is a bit dismissive at times but if the first person you ask doesn’t seem to know the answer to your request, try someone else (Eg we had to follow up our drinks order twice - turns out it had gone to the kitchen!)More
