Sometimes the menu is just that little bit different and interesting. Loca Vore’s menu is really interesting and the food was sensational. Serving sizes a vary quite a bit but the waitress was very helpful in this regard. Better to have some smaller courses so you have room for dessert ! I recommend any of the food but I had gnocchi which can often be tough, but here it was light and wonderful. The chocolate orange dessert is rich but magnificent - the orange flavour remaining slightly bitter even while surrounded in chocolate. I did not see the wine list but a friend chose a magnificent white wine so I can only assume the list was of generally high standard.

Quick drive up from the city to the Adelaide Hills for a relaxing lunch found us in Stirling (Couldn't get an easy park at the Crafer's Hotel). We were delighted that we found ourselves inside The Locavore. Easy lunch menu on a blackboard. I had the pate which was slightly fluid for my usual taste but delicious nonetheless and asking for more orange paste was no trouble. Husband had the haloumi which was superb. Our friend had the gnocchi which he said was fantastic. All prices very reasonable as was the local tantalising pinot grigio. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. It was a pleasant no-fuss lunch.

This is our wonderful local fave restaurant and we love their food, atmosphere, service and ethos.
We recently experienced The Locavore's capabilities at the next level, when they hosted a significant birthday party for us. Of course, everything was PERFECT and tailored specifically to our needs. All the guests raved about the food and venue, promising they'd be back (in smaller groups!). We definitely will be!

What a treat to eat local and experience delicious uncomplicated, uncompromising gourmet meals that are excellent quality and value in a warm and inviting environment in gorgeous Adelaide Hills. From the fragrant dressing on the SA oysters to the amazing and generous portions of pork belly, barramundi and steak- everything was delicious! So many gluten free options it was impressive. We will be back!

Laid up at home with Covid. So friend dashed off to Locavore and returned with piping hot, freshly made, sautéed chicken liver treat, plus a cob of sour-dough bread to soak up the superb sauce and juices.
Absolutely superb - I could put up with Covid every day with this sort of treatment.

Had a late lunch there with the family and loved the food. Not over the top. but very delicious nonetheless. Steak was seasoned and cooked very well and the mushroom arancini balls with garlic aioli were packed with flavour. Their tiramisu might very well be the best in the hills. And how about their service? Top notch! Made our first visit to Stirling very memorable.

Without a doubt the best local Hills restaurant. ( we are local and have shopped around!)
The menu is varied and the cooking excellent. Service is quick, polite and caring.
What we particularly appreciate is that one can linger , enjoying a meal without being drowned out by music or overly noisy guests.

The food was fresh and delicious as always with much care taken to accomodate a special requirement. Please never remove the squid starter from the menu. The service is always friendly and personal with the husband and wife team, along with always welcoming staff, ensuring everything is perfect. Great wine selection too!! We are regulars and will continue to be!! In fact our wonderful experiences at Locavore helped us make the decision to move from Sydney to the Adelaide Hills!

My wife and I have enjoyed dining at Loca Vore, Stirling for the third time just recently and once again, we have utterly enjoyed the experience. The food is incredible, the service is outstanding.
Our favourite dish is the Gnocchi, but I tried the Venison sausge dish on our recent visit and I have to say it will be hard to choose between the two dishes when deciding.
The venue is quaint and unassuming and comforting, and for me, embodies the whole Hills experience.
We will be comming back as soon as possible.

Warmly welcomed by Maître D and a nice fire. Arancini balls with truffled mayo was a tasty starter. Local wines by the glass. Mains were Squid Salad and baked Gnocchi and Chicken. Needed the recipe. Very personable chef shared the ingredients. Topped off with a great local dessert wine. Will certainly call back if I get an opportunity

7 of us had a great lunch here. The staff were excellent and attentive but not in your face. The menu was exciting and the resulting dishes from pate to steak, barramundi to pasta… the dessert I had (crème brûlée) was equally as delicious. Fresh produce and the tastiest porcini mushroom gravy… loved it!

Had our three year wedding anniversary dinner there on the 21st. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, some starters and mains.
The loca burger was the highlight for me. Beautiful soft bun and extremely moist patty with caramelised onion and beetroot.
Service was good too. Thanks Roxy for a lovely evening. We will be back.

Excellent restaurant with great service. Family if three were greeted and allocated warmest table in restaurant as per request.

Warm place on cold augusta night, the food was outstanding, roast cauli was amazing, the mains special and service professional but very warm and friendly. They even make Brussels Sprouts taste good. Highly recommend

Thoughtful menu, impressively crafted. We hadn't been up here for many years. Now there's a new owner chef. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, our table scoffed pork belly, barramundi and the burger. All yummo. We just had to have the tiramisu and roulade to share. Sipping on local wines ... what more could you ask for? We will return.
