Went with high expectations. Left bitterly disappointed. The prawn roll was essentially inedible. It was prawn sausage with not that much meat. At $22 it was a rip-off. The crumbed barramundi was fine, the chips excellent. ...but again, at $20, overpriced. The chef was also...somewhat dominating and bordering abusive to other staff. We will not return.More

I would usually avoid a fish place miles from any beach like the plague... but this was a delight to find, incredible produce, 'Jeres' is generous with both advice and samples, and I spent much more than I realized... a hidden gem in the Adelaide...Hills!More

What an experience. Today my daughter and I came to Stirling and had lunch at the Angler Fish and Chip shop. We had king George whiting with hand cut chips. Wow wow from the batter so so crispy to the fresh fish the crunchy chips...to the packaging of our meal. The customer service,it was all Excellent I can’t find a word great enough to describe how good everything was. Well done to the owners. We wish them all the very best because they deserve it. Visited this spot on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. Venue was clean, open planned and staff friendly - going about their business, filleting fresh fish. Menu enticed us in, not your ordinary, run of the mill fish and chip shop. Everything on the...menu looked great but couldn’t go past the prawn hotdog with a side of chips. After I ordered another patron had their fish and chips ready to go - needless to say I had food envy. Having said that, I wasn’t disappointed with my choice - I just think anything on this menu would be good. The prawn hotdog was just as it sounds, a prawn flavoured hotdog, with a what seemed to be a fresh brioche bun, some crunch with the greens and what was called ‘angler sauce’ - was seriously tasty. The chips, well I can’t say they are the best but they are close - you need to taste the chips. Chips sometimes are an afterthought but generally, the last thing you eat are the chips - they’ve nailed them and it left me very satisfied. It’s not cheap but not over the top either - great value for the quality you get.More

Walking down the Main Street looking for a place to eat came across Angler Stirling. The restaurant looked very clean and they were advertising scallop pies. We went in and met the staff they were very friendly and very informative about there menu. We had...barramundi and chips and it was excellent and the price very good. We highly recommend this restaurant. If we ever go that way again we would stop and have something else on there menu.More

Had sand whiting .Was excellent .Chips were Inedible :,dried out: Prawn dumplings were tasteless For $ 50 plus didn't come up to expectations will give the a go again, but not am happy giving this review .

Last minute decision for take away ‘fish & chips’ turned into the best we’ve had - ever ! Tommy ruff, crumbed - beautifully cooked. Great sauce with really good chips. We will be going back 👍

The Angler in Stirling was a very pleasant find on a recent walk through the township. We caught sight of the scallop pie on their lunchtime takeaway menu. Great value, crusty pastry and light sauce to complement the scallops. What sets this shop aside from...others is the seafood in the dry ager. We were privileged to have a “tour” from Jeremy who explained the process of dry aging fish. The flavours are delicate, and the succulent texture obtained by this method is not too dry, a credit to their chefs. Another superb treat was their prawn sausages with a generous amount of prawn and the right balance of seasoning. We’ll be singing their praises. Thank you Jeremy and Sam.More

It takes a lot to impress me I have eaten in Barcelona Germany France as a lot have. I was impressed in the way they present food cook the food and care how and were it came from, finally some people get it and is...now available in the Adelaide hills I was so impressed with the staff knowledge the method they produce basically everything. I cannot express how good this place is and you must try.More

Congratulations on the initiative in challenging times. There's clearly good things happening but have to express menu envy. The wood fire plate was the one to go for...not the expensive pasta for two that was flavoursome but very lean on seafood/prawns and luke warm. Hope...the honest feedback is constructive in the long term ...More

The Angler Stirling is more of a fresh fish take away... should nor really be classed as a restaurant. Very limited bar type seating , bamboo knives and forks, bottles used for drinking glasses. The fish is varied and tasty, but rather over priced ....From the various reviews we expected better .More

We went to buy take-away. Fish of the days catch ONLY is sold. The fish, 3 wild caught kinds on the day we went, is prepared in front of you by the chef and his crew according to how you want it. The chef was...sparkling and bright with happy chat about how he got to Stirling from Holland via France, and gave a neat little summary of the fishes on offer. Service was fast. The chips were crisp and delicious. All packaging is paper-based. Would be terrific if there were more seating space especially outside. Considering a take-away dinner party with friends.More
