We found this gem hidden amongst the hanging branches of a giant oak tree in Druid Avenue. We ordered the salad bowl, one with salmon, one with haloumi and avocado. We had a choice of bread from which to pick. To accompany or meals, which were large, we ordered the Kalleske Shiraz and Kalleske Chenin Blanc, both organic wines. The whole experience was superb. The meal was the best we have eaten during this South Australia visit. Absolutely brilliant service, courteous staff and gorgeous seating area outside under the oak. Well done 10/10.

Lovely food and great coffee is the order of the day here. If you are searching in the Market section for staples, all gorgeous. If you are into eating there is something for everyone. But noisy inside; better in the courtyard or on the verandah. And the coffee is so good you may have more than 1! Be prepared for the service to be a bit slow when they are busy, which is most of the time so allow for that. Cheerful staff are good.

Buzzing cafe with an excellent atmosphere and good selection of wholesome and healthy foods.
Came in for brunch, loved the place and promptly did the same next day.
Toasted Bruschetta with pumpkin, pepper and feta was gorgeous.
You can also go shopping in the eco-friendly shop and get done decent, quality food and sundries.
Would have come back next day if we weren’t at home!

We have dined here for a long time, but today was a big disappointment. My wife asked for a half portion of the eggplant dish. The waiter said that this would not be a problem. The dish was $19.95. She was charged $15 95 for a half portion. So just a $4 discount for a half portion. To make matters worse, the waiter then came to our table and told us that a half portion was not possible any more and requested that we pay the difference to get the full portion. When the food came half was put in a takeout box, so not sure why we couldn't get the half portion. The dish was inedible. The eggplant was hard on the outside and tasteless. My wife left it on the plate as she could not eat it. I had the soup. For $12.95 one would expect a hearty vegetable soup. Unfortunately it was a bowl of hot water with a few small pieces of vegetable thrown in. U left hungry. We will now cross this restaurant off our list which is really disappointing as we had previously enjoyed dining there. If you want value for money and attentive service, give the organic market a miss.

Ordered the scones with strawberry jam and cream and the baked eggs with ham and avocado. Asked to order enough for two people as we were sharing. Firstly, it took almost half an hour for them to bring out one scone with the wrong jam, when the waitress came out next I politely told her that we ordered two scones with strawberry jam, thinking she would come back with another scone and strawberry jam, she came back with just strawberry jam and a receipt pointing that I only ordered one scone, even though I definitely ordered two and the menu also says scones not scone. There was no offer of another scone so as I began to order another scone she just rudely walked off. After almost forty minutes the baked eggs came out with no ham and enough bread for two.. which defeats the purpose of the waitress telling me I didn’t order enough for two. The cafe is also dirty and smells. Not a good experience and will stick to Ruby’s next time.

Visited for brunch and were so disappointed. Service was incredibly slow. The apparently fresh and expensive juices tasted like flavoured water and the plates were so small it was very difficult to eat the relatively tasteless food without it falling all over the table. The menu is unimaginative and limited and we wish we had left before ordering as we had considered doing so but sadly we gave them the benefit of the doubt only to be disappointed. Also, if you don’t like loud cafes this place is not for you!
Such a pity Stirling residents and visitors. It seems cafes such as this don’t realise things have moved on in Adelaide and this sort of place just doesn’t cut it anymore.

The Organic Cafe used to be a great favourite of my family. As every year goes by, the place gets grubbier and more worn out. Today was a new low, my soup was bland and tepid and there were bird droppings on the table that the waitress made no attempt to wipe. The menu is tired and needs revamping and the whole place, especially the toilets needs a really deep clean. In these covid times, people want to have confidence in the sanitary arrangements of cafes and the Organic Cafe does not even try to look clean. I felt as if we were in the middle of an anti vax super-spreader event. Clean your act up Organic Cafe, hippy grunginess does not cut it in the current health crisis.

Absolutely adorable little cafe, tucked away in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. This place is a treasure for those who may seek the indulgence and nourishment of a warm chai or soup, on a cool winters day. I went for the very authentic croissant complimented with an in house made pesto which really hit the spot for me. The atmosphere is most pleasant, smile’s met with smile’s, the setting like the food is very organic with a natural down to earth feel. I must say the whole place has a very artistic, old soul, sort of vibe about it, that guarantees to catch the curiosity of those that pass by. A great menu option for the health conscious with different dietary requirements, also the market place joined to the cafe has such a diversity of organic foods, dry and fresh, if a farmers market married a health food shop this is their sweet child!
Overall I have very much appreciated and enjoyed the service and food here, I do hope you who may read this, can find yourself the pleasant experience this little gem has to offer. Reviews as we know are just personal opinions, so don’t let a bad one or two, ever turn you off, although they can give an idea of what you may expect, your personal experience is your own and will always be unique to you, so go find it for yourself! And enjoy life it’s a gift!

Arrived for a quick coffee at 3.40pm and we were greeted by a shaven headed female staff member commenting " oh that's lovely turning up just while we are trying to close" as she walked past with food for an outdoor table. I stopped and called out to her that "we could leave if she preferred" which she totally ignored. I repeated the offer to leave, which she also ignored. We then turned and started to walk out of the premises and the staff member was returning into the cafe from the outdoor area with a bemused look. I advised that she had got her wish as we were now leaving, which she also totally ignored. I would have thought a polite advice that service was finished for the day was preferable to the snide rudeness of her totally audible passing comment and then totally ignoring our comments. The irony was, that we then walked directly over the road to another cafe, had our coffees and then left and again saw the same female staff member still attending to the numerous customers that were still in the Organic Cafe premises. We had been to the cafe a number of times previously, but now totally cured of the need to ever revisit. We were quite willing to accept that service was finished for the day, but not the disgusting rudeness.

A sensational (and rather bustling) market and café. After stocking up on organic fruit and vegetables and a few GF treats, I went to the other end of the building for lunch. Unsure what to order, I followed the lead of the table next to me and chose a Salad Bowl! A mammoth bowl of roast beetroot, sweet potato, cauliflower, corn, broccolini and bok choy with amaranth, penne and pesto. It came with a very chunky piece of roast pumpkin and choice of breads / bun $20🤗.. when I’m hungry, salads are great but don’t leave me over full but, I struggled to get my coffee (10/10) down! Try the café.. you won’t be disappointed

Coffee used to be amazing, but a while back it changed, and when I enquired I was told they had changed the brand of coffee.
Coffee is now very very average - weak, tasteless. Nothing like their previous coffee.
Such a shame.
I think their reasons for changing come from a good place - fair trade/maybe Australian coffee now? but there must be coffee out there that has these attributes but still tastes good.
Have always found the food to be very good, and staff are wonderful.
Not a clean cafe though. Dirty floors, windows etc, gets grubbier all the time.
I’m disappointed they choose to use gas heaters outside which are not climate friendly, and are certainly at odds with signs around the place regarding sustainability etc.

I was so unimpressed by the service, efficiency and general ambiance of this place. Charged $16 for a little iced latte and a very poorly made vegan croissant. Horrible. Will never return. Neither will my family and friends. Do better, much better.
