One of our favourite light meal venues in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Delicious fresh meals, great coffee and awesome hand made chocolates 😋 This venue offers beautiful views over rolling green pastures, to the distant coast. Fresh mountain air and cool breezes make dining-in, a pleasure. Their home made pies & sausage rolls are outstanding and not your everyday bakery treats. I highly recommend their chicken & camembert pie or the beef buffalo sausage roll, each served with fresh salad and home made relish 🏆 There’s some on-street parking and generous off street parking under the building - enter from Memorial Close. Just watch clearance for high vehicles! Ammenities are easily accessed from shop level and the views are breathtaking 🏔 A great place to enjoy morning tea or lunch and treat yourself with a few delicious chocolates to take home ❤️

Great food, great view

Needed a spot of lunch while exploring and wanted to see the view. The sign said award winning sausage rolls and they were not wrong. Ordering was simple, scan the QR code to open the menu ap, choose, pay and relax and enjoy the view across the valley. Our pork and apple and buffalo chilli sausage rolls, iced tea and hot chocolate all came to the table about 10 minutes later. Everything was well presented and tasted great. Highly recommend

Desserts as good as the view!!

When walking up to Mayfields it’s the view that captures your attention first. The view here on a clear day is to die for!! This patisserie/cafe isn’t your standard cafe this is an upmarket place and the food and prices reflect that. So many delicious dessert options to satisfy your sweet tooth! When your paying $12 for a single dessert you want it to be so decadent that you almost can’t finish it and this is exactly what you get here. Definitely worth the splurge! Can’t wait to come back on a special morning tea with my daughter when it’s a little cooler and try the hot chocolates

Disappointing, can do better elsewhere in Montville

We were looking forward to a special birthday morning tea, after reading the reviews. The pricing is daunting at $11.90 for a dessert cake or slice. They all look very attractive and inviting. We chose a pistachio/chocolate cake and a tropical mousse patisserie. Two coffees arrived but it was a long wait for the cakes. It’s poor management to serve cakes when the coffees are almost cold and almost consumed. The cakes arrived with syrupy decoration and a small dish containing ice cream. I have never been served ice cream with a slice of cake before. There had been no mention of choosing cream or ice cream. The tropical dessert mousse was lovely but the pistachio cake was flavourless and bland. Service was disappointing. The young girls were more interested in chatting to each other than asking asking how the food was. Water was non existent. Disappointing and certainly won’t be returning. There are better places in Montville with perhaps less choice in cakes but better value and service.

Quality, Value for Money and Fabulous Views

Stopped here for early light lunch on girls week away. Selection of savoury sausage rolls, pies and quiches served with salad and relish, scones, cakes, beautiful chocolates, great coffee. AMAZING VIEWS. Highly recommended. Great gourmet savoury pastries. We tried buffalo and chilli sausage roll, chicken, brie, cranberry pie and pork and apple sausage roll. Yum. Don't miss this place.

Worst cafe experience ever

We have tried this cafe twice now. Unfortunately the only good thing is the view. Long wait to get the simplest snack, ie coffee and readymade cake. Incorrect orders brought to table, tasteless and stale food. The shortbread biscuit was extremely stale and soggy. Ordered a caramel latte and received an iced milk with caramel syrup and crushed ice. Staff rude and not interested in customers. We were surrounded by tables with dirty dishes and staff ignored these while walking past. Really, get some staff who actually enjoy their job and strive to make the customer’s experience a good one so they will return. And to call this a patisserie is a little over the top. There’s a small selection of cakes and stale biscuits. After two unsuccessful visits to this cafe we won’t be back.

It's all about the location! Sitting pretty on the edge of the escarpment with views out to the East, Mayfield Patisserie is not to be missed. But wait, there's so much more... Did I forget to mention the superb customer service skills of the manageress, the delicious food and affordable prices, all topped off with delightful staff? Unquestionably the new goto 'cafe' on the street. Note: There is limited seating so get in early or arrive late - you won't be disappointed.

The Adverts Were Right

The signs said that this little cafe sold award winning sausage rolls, and this was enough to commit to it being our lunch venue during our recent trip to Montville. We were not disappointed, the food was amazing as was the view looking over the valley toward the ocean and Sunshine Coast. The friendliness of the staff just capped off what was an all round great experience.

Cake with a view

We came for a piece of scrummy cake & a cuppa after doing Baxter Creek Falls walk from Flaxton. The cake was delicious, and best off all, the valley views were off the charts amazing. You can see the lush green rolling hills for miles as you look out from the outdoor tables in the cafe. Breathtaking!

Stopped off here for tea and cake, lovely and helpful staff. We sat outside on a table right by the beautiful views. Tea served in pots and delicious cakes...so much to choose from but the scone and Viennese whirl were delicious!

Lunch with a view

4 of us booked for lunch. Warm friendly staff. Angela was professional and very helpful. We were directed to a table with an amazing view of the coast. Coffee and a selection of chocolates was a delicious start. The sausage rolls are more than the average sausage rolls. Buffalo chilli with salad and relish and Lamb & Fetta. Savoury delights. Everything was very fresh and full of flavour. After a walk around the town, we had to come back for gelato. Will definitely be back. Excellent service.

Great coffee and cake with a spectacular view!

Mayfields is a must visit on any trip to Montville. The location, the staff, food coffee and a sensational view. We didn’t use the table QR code ordering system although if it were busier we would have. We wandered up to the counter, looked at the wonderful offerings and ordered after a quick chat with lovely staff. The menu is exceptionally creative. Highly recommended.

Love this place

My husband and I continue to cone up the mountain to enjoy the view, ambience and limited menu. Although the menu is small most items are made on the premises. Beautiful chocolate selection as well.
