We had dinner here as part of our wonderful package from @narrowescapes. It was amazing !!! Food was so delicious and my food intolerances catered for with no problems. Service and staff were a delight and made our night even better !!!! This is truly a must do , ambience and decor beautiful, great service and wonderful food 😍😍 The best !!!

Almost didn't go here as we were after fine dining, and the pictures of this place kind of looked more like a cafe (no crisp white table cloths, upholstered chairs, etc), but our accomodation host recommended it so we gave it a try...service was friendly, some food was great, some not as good. Scallops beautiful, roast chicken dry, but the macadamia sauce was beautiful, as were the veggies. Hubby had carbonade valdostrana (slow cooked beef) and loved it. We both had the blackberry parfait and were very disappointed - it was deconstructed, but didn't mention that it was on the menu at all. Wine was nice, but we were double charged for one of the glasses when it was sent back with a spider in it (not the restaurant's fault - it climbed on the table, then into the glass). So we paid for the glass of wine for the spider, and one for us 😳

Wonderful quality food

Lovely quiet and clam atmosphere, with professional and efficient service. We had entree main and dessert, all meals came out very timely with friendly waiters and waitresses. The food was delicious, we had the pork belly and beef short ribs as our main and LOVED then, were so impressed with the flavours and freshness of the produce. We had a really great experience. Thank you to all the team.

Two is really a charity vote for the one staffer who was clearly in need of assistance - which finally appeared. I he menu is extremely limited and on the night I visited, there was no sign of the more extensive “ $85 for 3 course” menu on the website, which is what attracted me to Altitude. The meze platter was slow in arriving and very uninspiring. The Greek salad with lamb which followed was not the cavalry to the rescue. The salad was sloppy and over-dressed. The charred lamb would probably have been ok if it had arrived when it was still hot. It didn’t and luke warm lamb on a sloppy salad doesn’t do it for me. All this and one has to go to the bar, order & pay for each item as it’s ordered? I do t think so. I’d rate it in my “ One & Done” list & won’t bother going again.

Delicious creative cuisine & a view to die for

My partner & I just loved our dinner date at Altitude restaurant in Montville. We were met with modern, elegant interior decor and an epic hinterland view through the large panoramic dining room window across to the Sunshine Coast. The table service allowed you adequate time to not feel rushed when making your menu selection, yet the wait staff were always there to offer assistance if needed. The cuisine was creative, beautifully presented and quite delicious. A special place for a special occasion or an impromptu dinner.

Given other reviews we expected a good dinner. Instead it was awful. Partner had the scallops to start. There were 3 on the plate which were ok and needed more sauce. I had the salad which was also ok except the jambon was deep fried not fresh as expected. Both mains were simply dreadful. Partner had pork belly which tasted like it was deep fried in very old oil. The potato rosti had a similar rancid flavour. I had the mussels and clams which although cooked ok, were drowning in a flavourless broth of stock, butter, onion and raw garlic. Given we did not enjoy it the management offered us 10% off the bill. Still we were very disappointed to have paid $120 for what was the worst meal we have had out in a while.

Our first time at this classy fine dining restaurant and was blown away by the quality of the food, atmosphere and customer service My husband says his Lemon Lime Bitters were the best ever and my non alcoholic Mojito was the best ever too. The meals were ample and cooked to perfection. However the Beef Ribs and mashed potatoes were very salty. Elle was simply remarkable suggesting the $59 for three courses and her recommendation was spot on except for the ribs.thank you Elle for making our dinner so enjoyable

Room was lovely & very clean. The restaurant is not available for lunch or dinner some days & dinner only others. There are no lifts so you have to carry your own bags up the stairs… we weee in the second floor. We stayed in the Spa Studio, advertised with beautiful scenery however it faces the main road & the windows are NOT triple glazed so you will hear all the traffic. Spoke to reception about a different room… got the feeling he didn’t really care. Considering the choices locally available- I would suggest to look elsewhere.

Disgusting unfriendly behaviour from Restaurant Manager and Bar staff

Popped in here with 6 girlfriends on the way home from Montville, staying right behind in an AirBnB! We thought we’d support a local business, arrived at 2.45pm on a Saturday afternoon and we asked if we could have drinks. We were told we could sit outside as the restaurant was closed! We asked for menus and ordered 5 cocktails, the service by the young girl behind the bar was not friendly! The cocktails arrived and then we ordered more drinks and were then told abruptly that the bar was also closing st 3.30pm.. no niceties at all! Our friend ordered a Gin and Tonic which arrived with soda — flat and no tonic.. on querying this at the bar my friend was then advised by the unprofessional restaurant manager that it WAS tonic as she had made it! No tonic, new bag loaded into the post mix which wasn’t bled, producing soda in the first run, the staff did not know what they were doing but continued to argue about the tonic. On going up to pay the bill the restaurant manager then proceeded to tell my friend how rude she had been about the tonic, absolutely ridiculous, such unprofessional behaviour from the restaurant manager, a customer querying their drink is rude? customer service zilch and high and mighty attitude from a restaurant manager who seriously had a bug up her ass 🤬 this place could be so good, but the lack of customers, customer service and friendly service says it all and will not help this business to survive, be a place to return to or recommend ☹️ Do not waste your time or money.. Montville has many other places that know how to treat their customers who will continue to return and support them 👍

Had Sunday lunch and paired it with the Sunday special of $15 cocktail and tapas. The lunch was amazing, my wife and I ate half of both the meals; a beef braised ribs and a travail in creamy sauce. Generous serve with lovely sides would definitely order again.

Decent middle class room without elevator

The Altitude on the edge of the small town is a decent mid-range hotel, the highlight being a whirlpool on the terrace facing the street. All in all, there isn't much to complain about, the upper rooms are a challenge with a lot of luggage, the view in the pictures is difficult to understand. Right on the street.

A perfect dining experience

Upon recommendation from friends on the Sunshine Coast, we finally dined at Altitudes in Montville. It is not easy to get all the food to perfection, but this restaurant did just that. From the spanner crab arancini balls to the goat's cheese stuffed roasted figs, all 6 plates we ordered were exceptional and presented with detail. The staff were obviously well trained in their job which is a huge plus for a restaurant. We were there for dinner to take in the magic views, and by the time we left the restaurant was full. We will be back soon.

Seriously do not waste your time. Staff just plain incompetent, not even able to take an order properly. Food terrible tasted stale. Over cooked, just plain awful and seriously overpriced. No one else in restaurant usually is a give away. Hospitality seriously lacking and food hygiene a real issue. Dried food on cutlery. Just awful all round

Cannot recommend this place. Staff doubled charged our card, then the Manager proved very difficult to arrange refund over the next week of attempted resolution. Staff member admitted that their reputation isn’t important as they rely on tourist trade.

Lovely Sunday Dinner

My partner and I stopped here for dinner on a Sunday night and we have to say, we were very pleased with the ladies that assisted us. There was only 1 staff member on when we arrived and even though she was very busy, she was very accommodating to us, we even requested an inconvenient change of table to outside and although inconvenient, was not a problem. All requests we made were happily catered to, we felt very looked after and wanted to share some kudos to the hardworking ladies working at Altitude, especially the initial lady who was on her own at first. Thanks for the great service and even some friendly banter to make us feel comfortable.
