So pleased we managed to get into Lockslane at our second attempt. It's quite small so essential to book. Small, but by no means claustrophobic, with a great ambience. An imaginative menu superbly prepared and presented.

We visited this restaurant with friends who had been several times and we had a very enjoyable evening. The restaurant is small and cosy with a friendly atmosphere and lovely food. We all chose different things from the menu and the presentation and quality of...More

We went for dinner with friends who had not been to this restaurant before and they were all hugely impressed. The welcome is friendly, the restaurant not overcrowded and, most important of all, the food is delicious, well presented and varied. Be aware, though, that...More

What a menu, I wanted to try everything, it was an exciting choice, very varied and original. My only complaint is I had to limit myself to 1 starter, 1 mains and 1 dessert. This was easily the best food we have had on the...More

There's a moment near the start of the movie Raratouille when Remy tries to explain his love of food to his brother Emile. He demonstrates that different ingredients can be combined to become larger than the sum of their parts and release explosions of exciting...More

We had a lovely meal here. The starters and mains were beautifully presented and the flavours were stunning. The recommended wine was also very good. We decide to share a cheese board for dessert and this was the only area that let the restaurant down....More

A bijou restaurant in an unprepossessing location run by the two lady owners; one front of house, the other as the chef. Food is imaginative, with a good selection that regularly changes. Presentation is lovely and portion sizes are perfect. Front of house is relaxed,...More

Top notch in EVERY WAY. The place has a lovely, friendly, relaxed feel and the food was absolutely divine. I just wish I'd had room for desert as my first two courses were so tasty as were my girlfriends. Loved it and would 100% go...More

Really nice restaurant. Great food. Service unobtrusive but efficient & friendly. Don't hurry you at all & even when you eat early they aren't looked no to turn the table over. I loved the crab rarebit starter and the lamb shoulder as a main course...More

What a wonderful little culinary gem in the middle of sleepy Bembridge. The menu is varied to suit a range of palates and combines traditional ingredients and mixes them up with a quirky touch which takes the dishes to a new level. My main of...More

I would say no, because it's quite small and intimate, even if the dog is small, it's not suitable for them.

Children over 12 are very welcome at Lockslane, although the bistro does not have a children's menu or offer children's portions.

Hi, It's really down to you. There is no second sitting so the table is yours for the night. It is a relaxed atmosphere and the owners will serve at your pace. I would say min 2 hours, max 3 hours. Enjoy.

Description
Lockslane is an intimate restaurant right in the heart of Bembridge. We source our ingredients from the shops right here in our village and across the Island: vegetables from The Farm Shop, and fresh fish from Captain Stan and Island Foods for meat from Isle of Wight farms. We are intentionally small, concentrating our efforts on providing attentive service and a dynamic menu.We are open from 6.30 In the evening and take last table reservations at 9pm, though you are welcome to stay as long as you want thereafter. Due to our size, we only allow children over the age of 12.
