Bookings are essential - we live with 45 mins of the Crowne Plaza. Covid arrangements were good when we arrived: sign-in or scan, waiters with masks and tables were spread out. The head waiter gave us a very friendly greeting on arrival as did the waitress for our table. This restaurant has a range of price options, including 2,3 and 5 course options. We chose the 3 courses. All side dishes are $10 each. It was very busy as was a Friday & the end of school holidays but the service was very good. We each had the scallops for entree. For Mains 2 had the lamb shoulder and both agreed it was beautiful and tender and melted in the mouth, 1 other had the Pork dish and I had the King fish & we ordered a side dish of greens to share and still did not finish all the greens (no need to really have a side dish) For dessert 1 had Mango cheese cake, 1 had Citrus tart & the other 2 had 'Banoffee' Dark Chocolate Dome. Each course arrived in good time. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed all their course. There were a number of small children having meals with their parents and all were very well behavoured. Very enjoyable evening.

We went for the surprise Sunday lunch with some friends thinking as we have had super amazing 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 meals here before.
Great value for $49 which includes a glass of wine or beer 🍺
The first plate that come out well don’t!
Really lovely warm bread roll
Risotto very delicious
And the lamb best we have ever had...
Disappointed with cheese platter a really nice small sweet treat would of been so much more nicer.
Staff really nice and ALL COVID safe we felt very relaxed and safe 😀

With a large conference being held, management should have expected a busy night of hungry and thirsty travellers. Long line up for both drinks and food ordering.
Food when delivered was very nice with a wide variety of meals on offer (and looking good at other tables). Great looking steaks, bruschetta and pastas. The mussels are great in taste and value and my mates gnocchi hit the mark as well.
(Would have given 4 star rating but for the poor service levels).

2 out of 3 meals were cold, they were the tenderloin and the scotch fillet.
The person who asked for the tenderloin was specific about serving the meat hot. It was sent out cold. Then sent back 2 times, last time for cold vegetables.
The tenderloin and scotch fillet were sitting under the lights waiting for them to be served, 10 - 15 minutes before they were served to us.
Scotch fillet was also cold.
The scotch fillet was ordered to be medium to medium rare, it came out rare.
That was different.
3rd meal was Duck, that was served hot and was nice.
Sauteed green and Mocktails were nice.
To top off the night, we watched one of the people who handles the food in the kitchen. They turned around and took something off their nose, they did not clean there hands afterwards.
I guess we were just unlucky and hopefully others did not have the same experience.

Family of 4, had the dinner buffet ($69 adults, $30 kids). Staff were fantastic, however the food was not good unfortunately. Some dishes were delicious - Wild Mushroom Gnocci and home made ice-cream, however for $198 for a family of 4, I’d at least expect the food to be ‘good’. It simply wasn’t. The quality wasn’t there for the price. We were planning on going to their ‘award winning breakfast buffet’, but based on dinner buffet, we won’t be going back.

Experienced the evening buffet on Christmas Day. The food was very average and not a lot of variety for a place that purports to be a quality dining experience. No fresh seafood for Christmas dinner. The wine was very expensive for basic quality wine. Meal was $89 a head. Cheapest bottle of Chardonnay was $80 and my wife had a bottle of sparkling moscato at $65. Add two beers plus a 15% surcharge for public holidays and it was just shy of $400 for dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful and this is why it received one star rating.

We decided to try out the 5 course degustation menu and am very glad we did it. Well worth the asking price, each course was presented excellently, tasted amazing, and was individual introduced by a waiter/waitress. The staff really knew their stuff!

As a frequent visitor to the Hunter Valley i was pleasantly surprised with the quality and quantity of the food at Redsalt. The food was exquisite, cooked perfectly and service was excellent We were there as a group of 6, we all agreed our food was of high standard.
Breakfast at Redsalt was also one of the best breakfasts in the Hunter Valley. Great Variety and quality. The coffee was really good which was an added bonus. Will definanately return.

We especially enjoyed the 5 course meal with pared wines we had at the restaurant. The food was delicious, the wines were good. We don’t normally drink much white wines, they were ok, however the sparkling wine, the red and the dessert wines, I found, were really nice.
We had two dinner and 2 breakfast meals while staying at the resort. The breakfast buffet is fabulous.
The restaurant staff were very friendly. Truly the most friendly staff I have experienced EVER.
I would recommend this restaurant.

Dined here twice while staying at the hotel. Service was good. Staff were friendly. Al-a carte dining now (no more buffet) which was good as the food we had was very nice and delivered quickly. Pancakes were lovely. Coffee was good too (and hot!) Very kid friendly for breakfast which made it enjoyable (with a kids menu) Would eat here again.

We were tempted by a trip to Pokolbin for a Lazy Long Lunch at Redsalt for only $49 ph. It was a hot day but the view over the swimming pool had a cooling effect and the presence of only a few diners in a small private room helped offset trhe heat. There were no clues as to food offerings but the menu provided a good variety. A slice of sourdough with whipped butter was a useful beginning but the dishes which followed were exemplary. A superbly moist seared chicken fillet was lifted by a heirloom corn sauce and a delicious pasta dish was highlighted by finely pureed carrot and micro herbs. A perfect piece of succulent and crispy soy pork belly was then presented with bok choy. Just room for an elegant mango cheesecake. A house semillon was an excellent accompaniment to these dishes. Each week will be different and this lunch is well worth a try.

Without doubt the most shocking breakfast we have ever had. Our family had been told that Red Salt restaurant at Crowne Plaza was the best breakfast in the Hunter Valley. I disagree!
The staff were fabulous. Very friendly and helpful. That was the only positive.
First, the kids pancake stack which had barbecue sauce on it instead of chocolate. A mistake!
Next, the fattiest bacon I have ever seen with the fat uncooked. Yuk!
Then, raw chicken sausages! We were told that the chef said “they are fine“ although the chef did not even look at it. The wait staff were horrified and apologetic. Next was undercooked snotty eggs served to a 12 year old.
Eventually our $100 bill was refunded but after much debate. Uncooked chicken can kill people. Be warned.

Redsalt is the breakfast restaurant of the Hunter Valley (Lovedale township) Crowne Plaza. You can expect to pay upwards of $20 pp but we were booked on the Qantas package which includes a full breakfast. I found the choices were good but my partner was less impressed. The most expensive breakfast is $25 but bacon and scrambled eggs are $22 and cereal options less than $10. I thought the service was excellent and the quality of the food very good. We ate here twice.

We had dinner at Redsalt Restaurant while staying at the Crowne Plaza for my wifes birthday and we both enjoyed the night very much. Cameron the Maitre d' was very helful in setting up the surprise desert for my wifes birthday and the team were really friendly and wished my wife happy birthday several times.
The food was very good and we had nothing to complain about during the meal. The prices were in line with the quality of the food and given the location in the tourist haven of the Hunter Valley.
Would I visit again? Yes I would!
So why not 5 green dots? Well mainly it was the atmosphere. I mean it wasnt horrible, we were given a table by the window overlooking the massive outdoor pool area (aguable if thats a good thing?). But it was still just a large hotel restaurant with a wide open interior that held back the atmosphere. It certainly couldnt be considered romantic or cozy, but it was well organised and well run so not 5 green dots but 4.

Our wedding anniversary celebration dinner at Redsalt, Lovedale. Firstly the waitstaff highly commendable, the food served just as good. The restaurant overlooks the huge swimming pool and children's water contraption? What a great concept. We found the menu excellent and wines a great selection. Meals were served orderly and were scrumptious, could not fault in anyway. Well recommended.
If you are local the restaurant offers locals discount. Thank you, one of our favorite places to eat. PS the buffet breakfast is awesome..
