Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I went in at 12:30 on a Sunday. It was the last table that had become available. We were lucky to get a seat by the window.
Outside the window, we could see many branches of cherry trees. I imagine it would be a beautiful sight when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
We ordered a balcony blend coffee @600 yen, Earl Grey tea @700 yen, and lemon pudding @550 yen. The pudding was delicious. All of them were flavors that allowed us to take a break.
Hymn-like music was playing quietly inside the room, and even though we were in a typical Japanese wooden room, we felt like we were in a church.
We were able to spend a very luxurious and relaxing time. I would like to return when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
Thank you for the delicious food.

After lunch, we went to an antique cafe located on the grounds of the famous Kamenoi Villa. There were a lot of people, so we waited while looking around the souvenir shops below. There were only a few seats, so we were able to relax and enjoy our coffee and cake. It was a cafe with a nice atmosphere for adults. The cake was also delicious.

One of my favorite place in Kyushu area. I tried water drip coffee and it was good. I didn't try but other food looked good and price was reasonable.
Store atmosphere was great. It feels like I'm in private cottage. I would definitely visit this place if I go back to Yufuin.

The beef stew and pork cutlet sandwich was superb as well as the home made pudding. Well deserving of its No.1 spot on TripAdvisor. However, they should drop the monk chanting music in the background; Doesn’t quite match its ambience 🤣

Nice cosy ambience and coffee. Cakes were not bad - had a good fig compote which was a seasonal special.
Cafe was playing Gregorian chants in the background which was a little eerie. Would be great if it had a view of the lake which is a 1 min walk away.

A famous restaurant on the shores of Lake Kinrin. When I arrived about 9:05 before the opening time, there were already about four groups lined up. I was touched by the kindness of being guided to a four-person table seat even though I was alone that day♥ I had the name of the Morning Set for 1,540 yen. The set consisted of...⭕Seasonal soup (spinach)⭕Seasonal vegetables⭕Herbal chicken breast, smoked duck⭕Homemade yogurt⭕Makinoya toast, cultured butter, peach jam⭕Onsen egg⭕Choice of hot coffee. A very healthy and delicious selection. And although simple, the careful presentation and cooking allowed me to fully enjoy the taste of the ingredients. Makinoya is a famous local bakery in Yufuin. I was so relaxed that my butt was stuck to the chair and I couldn't get away. That said, there were already several groups of customers waiting near the entrance. I felt bad for taking up four seats by myself^^; as I left the restaurant. Oh, it's a small thing, but the water is delicious. I heard that the well water in Yufuin is delicious. It has a very soft taste. There's no way that coffee brewed with this wouldn't be delicious.
