We got a good window table, plenty of space, extensive menu. Main course of plaice could have been a bit more substantial. Had some local gin which was a nice touch.

What a lovely pub in a lovely spot. Perfect for a special family birthday celebration. We were a large party of 12 with, I must say, a variety of fussy eaters/allergy sufferers, and our needs were catered for magnificently. Even down to my daughter not liking a thing on the menu but was offered something completely different much to her... More

My Mum loves The Ginger Fox! She takes people there all the time! We were going to visit another of our favourite restaurants but, due to The Brighton Marathon, crossing the road to the seafront proved nigh on impossible. It was a sunny, spring Sunday and we were anxious to eat outside. Thankfully, although the restaurant was busy, there was... More

We live locally, used to be regulars but the loyalty card system (so enticing!) stopped and the quality of the roasts on Sunday dipped quite alot (fewer veggies, burnt yorkshires etc.). Two if us went this week for lunch and were disappointed - it was quiet, yet we waited 40 minutes for our meal (no feedback as to why from our smiling but... More

We live a distance away but decided to have a drive out with friends one beautiful evening and picked a pub from the internet to have supper. We were very pleasantly surprised! The parking was easy and there was a garden outside which it was getting a bit chilly for, so we took our table inside. We all ordered fillet... More

Being an anniversary occasion my wife and myself were presented with a gift voucher and were eager to try some up market food in a rustic setting. Surprisingly we started the course with a dessert namely Welsh rarebit (not the bunny) which showed as £5.50 on the dessert or £6.00 as an appetizer !! We each followed this with the... More

We visited again with a couple who live nearby and hoped it would be better than our previous visit. The menu is very limited and has not changed much (if at all) since our previous visit. having said that, it was very difficult to read the menu as the restaurant was so dark. When we mentioned this the waitress brought... More

We visited on a Sunday with my parents as a belated Mother's Day treat. The weather was beautiful so the place was absolutely heaving, always a sign of a good place to eat! We had pre-booked a table in the restaurant area but enjoyed an aperitif outside in the sun, my Aperol spritzer was delicious. The fish Bon Bon starter... More

This was our third visit as I love the atmosphere at the GF and I have to say the food wasn't as good as it has been. Service was great with an attentive waitress who got it just right. The food was just wasn't as good as before but we will be back at some stage.
