I had my 50th birthday lunch at King Henry's and it was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. All of the staff who helped me in the planning of the event and on the day itself, including Scott, Jemma, Emma, Ellie, Hannah and the owner Ross were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They even came up with a creative seating arrangement to comfortably accommodate the entire party which put my mind at ease and worked brilliantly for us all. The 'white room' was stunning, the food was delicious and the service was delivered with a warm smile and made us feel at home and very well looked after. Thank you all so much again, you made my birthday beautiful! I highly recommend King Henry's xx

A special treat for Mother’s Day! A gorgeous high tea hamper delivered at home full of sandwiches, quiche, baked goods, sweet treats, beautiful tea and my absolute favourite....delicious warm scones with lemon curd and cream!!!! Completely spoilt rotten! Love love love this place! Can’t wait until isolation is over and it opens. The atmosphere is peaceful and so friendly. Love the coziness and the visiting birds at this beautiful place. Thanks again for my delicious treat! It made my day! 💕🌸💕🌸💕🌸

We went for first time to this place, and we were very impressed about the quality of the food and service. The place is also very cozy British cottage style. We ordered the beef burger and pork belly and I could not resist the temptation to write our compliments on a paper serviette to the kitchen team. This place could be easily missed when driving through, however we highly recommended it!

Went for dinner. Poor service, poor quality food, poor presentation of food. My mushroom vegetarian meal was not served hot, and was dreadful. The service was so slow we were the last ones in the restaurant, we had to go and find a staff member to take our dessert orders. She took them, came back and said "sorry the kitchen is closing" we are unable to fulfil two of the four orders. It was 9pm on a Friday. Once we left after paying they turned out the lights to the car park and it is quite a walk downhill, and not paved so an uneven walk surface. Precarious to say the least. The setting is quite lovely in the Dandenongs but the food, service and ambience all lacked finesse. Wont be back.

Had lunch there recently and was somewhat disappointed. Ordered 2 entrees, pate'with toast plus a prawn cocktail. Pate' was house made with pickles, very tasty and generous amount for two people. The prawn cocktail contained 3 tasteless prawns and a small amount of salad in a Martini glass. For $14, I would have loved prawns which tasted of the ocean, a generous amount of lettuce and seafood sauce. My friend and I left seriously underwhelmed.

We recently had dinner at King Henry's. It’s a lovely old house, with a lovely veranda, and very welcoming. We each had the prawn cocktail for an entree, a bangers and mash, and the sesame crusted salmon salad. The food was definitely nice but not exceptional and was probably a bit overpriced for the quality. The wait staff were friendly but definitely need some training. I realise everyone is struggling to get staff post Covid but just some basic training would go a long way here. To be fair it was a Thursday night and not a weekend but there were 5 customers. When The gentleman dining on his own left he wished us good luck. That left 2 couples. When their sound track finished they just left the restaurant silent. Same with the heating; it went off and we were left in a very cold and silent restaurant. The other couple decided to depart but unfortunately for us we were only halfway through our mains. My husband trying to be polite asked whether the mustard that came with the bangers and mash was home made but was told “nah it’s masterfoods”. We definitely were not encouraged to check out dessert. When we asked if they did coffee we were told “yes but it costs $4 each”. It was well before 8.30pm but it was obvious the staff were ready to go home. We had the coffee, paid the bill and left. Overall, a very average experience at King Henry's and we’d recommend Dine Devine down the road as a better option.

Very disappointed with this place. My wife and I went there today. We have heard great things but truly it was a very disappointing experience. To start with we were given two menus, but one had nothing in it. My wife ordered the fish and chips. Grilled. It came battered, nice but not what she ordered. I ordered the Coq Au Vin. My god did they empty the entire salt shaker in it? Almost inedible. The soup was okay as was the bread. But the butter was completely frozen. We didn’t want to chance desert or coffee. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. On the plus side, it’s a nice environment and the waitresses were friendly enough. The major plus was the fact the we were given a gift voucher that covered most of the meal. Never again.

A hidden gem in the hills. Been several times and each time the food is amazingly fresh and high quality. 100% the best scones I’ve ever had in my life. Their home made jam and lemon curd is to die for and the coffee.... wow Special mention also to the staff who are always attentive and smiling ❤️

3.5 / 5 This Cafe is housed under a state of art cottage that is a historical beauty....And amid nature. That was one of the reason for choosing.this one since it was our very first after 3 months of shutdown. We all ordered almost the same thing for brunch which was a pan seared salmon served with potatoes and sweet corn fritters, bacon and egg on toast, quiche, coffees, Koko hot chocolate, lemongrass tea, chai and carrot cake slice Coffee was excellent and so was the espresso. Koko hot chocolate, as usual, was very good. So was the chai and lemongrass tea. Loved their version of beautifully cooked quiche but the crust was quite soggy. Loved the sauce that accompanied it. Bacon and Egg are pretty much a standard that one cannot fail. Carrot Cake slice and Salmon with Potatoes Sweet corn fritters. Salmon was seared beyond, and was extremely dry and chewy. And thus, made everything on the plate disappointing. Carrot was super dry and extremely sweet for our palate. Staffs' quite friendly and amazing. They really know how to take care of their customers. Knowing that they are in the middle.of nowhere, portions are prices appropriately and ingredients are quite fresh.

The restaurant has the garden and in in warmer weather the option of outdoor seating. Service is friendly and prompt the letdown is the food We found it very bland Having the cob loaf filled with meat and chuncky vegies but no sauce it was very dry and need something to enhance flavor. My partners mushroom zaatar was served with stalk attached and the salad was tactless. The outside looks like it needs a clean the outdoor seating are has bird sht on balustrade and cobwebs. I think its become a tourist trap who will go in based on looks as locals we will eat elsewhere and dont recommend spending 100 dollars for lunch here

We visited this establishment based on its previous reviews across different platforms and the menu which was review online. On arrival, the venue looked quaint and eat however we were very disappointed on being seated. The table had sauce from the night before smeared over it and the table had not been wiped down in days (pictures below). They had recently updated their website for Christmas in July however had not taken the time up update their entire menu. Like 99% of people these days, we reviewed the menu prior to going to ensure it was a place we wanted to have breakfast. On review of the menu it was different to the online version and when asked, the staff member stated 'what we have is what's on the menu'. Now to the food - we travel and eat out quiet a lot, so feel that we have a good grasp on acceptable food. We were out with two children my wife and I, the kids pancake was drowned in so much maple syrup the pancake itself kept disintegrating as you tried to pick it up - it was so over sweet that the kids didn't even want to finish it. The bacon and eggs was below average. It was clear the bacon had been cooked in advanced and sat somewhere to keep 'tepid' whilst the egg lacked any seasoning. I have never had burnt, what was meant to be sourdough but was just thick cut white toast loaf, bread that had not even been buttered. dry, overcooked thick cut toast is not pleasant with dry bacon and tasteless eggs. The French toast, was meant to be on brioche, however was the very same thick cut toast that the bacon and eggs were severed with, just, once again, drowned in maple syrup. We were very disappointed with this location. It may serve nice lunch and or evening meals but it is not recommended for breakfast.

Wow!!!! Beautiful setting, great menu, fab staff and owner. We had Devonshire Tea which is the best I have had since being in UK 5 years ago. I'm a pom so know my scones, jam and cream. Not to mention the made on premises amazing blackberry jam and lemon curd. The tea,English Breakfast brewed to perfection and strong (as we poms like it). The menu for lunch reads beautifully and the meals looked so appetizing when they came out. Reasonable prices, great service and wonderful ambience. Do yourselves a favour,go check it out, especially, but not only, if you have tourists staying with you

We recently had dinner at King Henry's with another couple; a lovely setting and as it was a warm evening, we enjoyed our table on the verandah, however we all agreed that while the food was nice enough, it was overpriced for the quality. The wait staff were friendly but appeared to be trying to hurry us along, asking several times for our order initially then after our main course, asked repeatedly if we were ready to order dessert. They tended to hover around and we all felt like they were trying to push us along and get us out the door, despite it being well before 8.30pm. Overall, a very average experience at King Henry's.

Even though it looks as though you've stepped back in time and space - 19th century England to be exact - there is nothing "old" about the food here! On a cold, winter morning the fireplace was already lit and the coffee was very good. From the french toast to the scones to the delightful eggs bendict, everything was delicious and fresh. We could not have been happier. Will return very soon. Oh, my youngest daughter had apple and cinnamon camomile which deserves a special mention because it was so good. Staff were exceptional.

Have been here many many times and rated five stars every single time. This time was different. The menu still on their website (which was amazing whatever you ordered) has now been replaced - taking away one star for that. Ordered zucchini fritters which were burnt on the outside and uncooked in the middle. Presentation has gone backwards - was always beautiful before. Taking away two stars for that. This has been my favourite local spot for quite a few years so I will go back and give them one more chance. The waitress was outstanding and the only reason I’ll give them another chance. Something here has changed - let’s hope they can get their mojo back!
