Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wanted to give a better review as the people running the restaurant are so nice. Unfortunately the service has a faulty towers like comedy to it due to nervous and poorly trained staff, and the food is below par. The Sunday roast (lamb) was so...badly over cooked as to be barely edible - not a hint of pink to be found in the meat - just an over cooked chewy Grey. Chocolate pudding was simply a dry piece of ordinary chocolate cake heated up in the microwave. Not a pudding at all. No soft or oozy Centre. Just dry cake with a syrup at the bottom of the bowl to try to give the dry cake some moisture relief. Place is charming, people are nice, food is very very average.More

Nothing like a Sunday afternoon Devonshire Tea, especially in such a beautiful setting like King Henry’s. My friends ordered the traditional tea and scones. As a vegan I’m always looking for cafes that can offer the same or at least similar to what my friend...are having. When the kitchen was given my feedback that I was disappointed there wasn’t a vegan scone option, the chef offered to make up some scones on the spot! What FANTASTIC customer service!!! The chef came out to chat to me when he brought out the hot, fresh scones and I could not be more appreciative of the staff and effort that was made. Hopefully a vegan option becomes a regular option on the menu and as a local, we will return again and again!More

Awesome. Nice restaurant, lovely staff setting up for Christmas with their decorations. Roast lamb was delicious and so was the included wine at $30 per head. Meat was tender and veggies were serviced with a lovely Yorkshire pudding filled with gravy. Warm service. Will so...come back even though at home we can cook up a storm as hubby a chef! Loved ❤️More

What a truly magical evening we had! The atmosphere... the Christmas tree, the lights the decorations... the gentle Christmas of old Yule times, music! Then the food came! Incredible... the chicken pie with creamy melt in your mouth mash and peas was heaven! Very generous...portions!! The desserts were comforting and indulgent and delicious! What child hood dreams are made of!More

We visited this establishment based on its previous reviews across different platforms and the menu which was review online. On arrival, the venue looked quaint and eat however we were very disappointed on being seated. The table had sauce from the night before smeared over...it and the table had not been wiped down in days (pictures below). They had recently updated their website for Christmas in July however had not taken the time up update their entire menu. Like 99% of people these days, we reviewed the menu prior to going to ensure it was a place we wanted to have breakfast. On review of the menu it was different to the online version and when asked, the staff member stated 'what we have is what's on the menu'. Now to the food - we travel and eat out quiet a lot, so feel that we have a good grasp on acceptable food. We were out with two children my wife and I, the kids pancake was drowned in so much maple syrup the pancake itself kept disintegrating as you tried to pick it up - it was so over sweet that the kids didn't even want to finish it. The bacon and eggs was below average. It was clear the bacon had been cooked in advanced and sat somewhere to keep 'tepid' whilst the egg lacked any seasoning. I have never had burnt, what was meant to be sourdough but was just thick cut white toast loaf, bread that had not even been buttered. dry, overcooked thick cut toast is not pleasant with dry bacon and tasteless eggs. The French toast, was meant to be on brioche, however was the very same thick cut toast that the bacon and eggs were severed with, just, once again, drowned in maple syrup. We were very disappointed with this location. It may serve nice lunch and or evening meals but it is not recommended for breakfast.More

We thought they would specialise in their roast beef but we were sadly mistaken. A plate full of vegetables and beef arrived and looked great. The gravy and vegetables were good but the roast beef was almost inedible - chewy and tough. Disappointing.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to King Henry's. The staff were wonderful and welcoming, and importantly the food was exquisite. I ordered the beef cheek, which quite simply melted in my mouth. Dessert was equally tasty; pudding with butterscotch sauce to die for. Devonshire...Tea with fluffiest scones was delicious. Not food related, however thank you for the recommendation of visiting Alfred Nicholas Memorial Park, it was a beautiful and tranquil place.More

Just stopped in for dinner after a day in the forest, we were met with a warm welcome, vegetarian specials and a place by the fire. The atmosphere and staff are worth returning for!

Lovely, English atmosphere surrounded by beautiful gardens. Staff were professional and attentive to our every need. The food was beautifully presented and tasted even better. Good value for money with very generous serves. Highly recommend the "home made" scones with choice of jam or lemon...curd and fresh cream topped off with a delicious cappuccino.More

We recently had dinner at King Henry's. It’s a lovely old house, with a lovely veranda, and very welcoming. We each had the prawn cocktail for an entree, a bangers and mash, and the sesame crusted salmon salad. The food was definitely nice but not...exceptional and was probably a bit overpriced for the quality. The wait staff were friendly but definitely need some training. I realise everyone is struggling to get staff post Covid but just some basic training would go a long way here. To be fair it was a Thursday night and not a weekend but there were 5 customers. When The gentleman dining on his own left he wished us good luck. That left 2 couples. When their sound track finished they just left the restaurant silent. Same with the heating; it went off and we were left in a very cold and silent restaurant. The other couple decided to depart but unfortunately for us we were only halfway through our mains. My husband trying to be polite asked whether the mustard that came with the bangers and mash was home made but was told “nah it’s masterfoods”. We definitely were not encouraged to check out dessert. When we asked if they did coffee we were told “yes but it costs $4 each”. It was well before 8.30pm but it was obvious the staff were ready to go home. We had the coffee, paid the bill and left. Overall, a very average experience at King Henry's and we’d recommend Dine Devine down the road as a better option.More
