Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My favourite restaurant in Sassafras. I had beer battered fish and chips with a caper aioli. The fish was fresh and moist and the batter crunchy. My son had pork belly burger which he said was amazing, stuffed with meat and onion and sauce and...satisfyingly messy to eat! Service was quick and friendly. Servings were very generous. I couldn’t finish mine. Setting is in a lovely converted weatherboard church dating from 1902, perched up on a hill. There’s a foodie store and bee hive located behind the restaurant but was disappointed to find it closed by the time we’d finished our meal. Next time!More

We visit DD with a group of friends, one of them was in a wheelchair, so we couldn't access the restaurant. We stayed outside, It did not matter much since the day was pleasant. It was our first visit to the town, therefore we did...not know how DD works, so one of us decided to ask if the waiter came to the table or if we placed the order at the counter. They told us to wait at the table. Ten minutes later we returned to request attention, during that wait two other tables were occupied next to us. They placed plates and took another 10 minutes to take our order. They did so but after the two previously mentioned tables. Half an hour later, lunch was served to the other tables and we still waiting. We asked if our lunch was far away two more times and on both occasions, they reply it was on its way. It took them 1 hour to serve us 4 dishes, at that time of the afternoon it was already cloudy and cold. We are aware of the shortage of staff, but good attention is measured in the details. Our deception would have been fixed with a heartfelt and honest apology but of all the people involved, only one (Sienna) apologized to us for what happened, the others acted either with disregard or even with apathy.More

Went on the weekend and yes it was busy but not overly so. The service was less than expected. After the initial drinks order was taken we had to chase the wait staff to order more, none of the staff checked if we were happy...with our meals. Had to go to the bar to ask for the desert menu and coffee. Meals took a long time to come and were just OK, my partner commented that he had had a better parma in the local pub the night before and my meal was dry. I don't know that I would bother going back there.More

The food and service was very good. Unfortunately, the access for elderly and disabled is far from good. There were 4 steps into the restaurant with no handrails. Even though there was a door that would have meant I could enter on the flat on...my mobility scooter, we were told we were not able to use it. Very unwelcoming. Unbelievable! And this in a tourist village. We won't go back.More

We went to Dine Divine for Mother’s Day breakfast. Very nice place in Sassafras. Friendly young staff, boys and girls. Trained, knowledgeable and efficient. The food was very good. We will be coming back for dinner soon to dig more in the options. Well done!

We had dinner here on a Friday night. We both had the Porterhouse steak, and a lovely bottle of St Hubert’s Pinot noir. Both were excellent. The staff were great, and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was busy but we’ll spaced in a...Covid friendly way, but still had a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are visiting the area for the weekend.More

We recently hosted a baby shower high tea at Dine Divine and it was absolutely perfect. We booking Dine Divine for the baby shower at the last minute when another nearby venue cancelled our booking unexpectedly. Luckily Dine Divine turned out to be better than...we could have imagined. We had the baby shower in the old church section so it was a private space. We were able to come an hour early to set up and decorate, and although scheduled to end at 2 pm, there was no problem for us to stay a bit later. The food was amazing. The best high tea I've ever had. We couldn't eat it all, but were able to take the leftovers home with us. Also the coffee was so good I had to have two. Through the whole event, Trevor and his team were great, making sure everyone had food and drinks and quickly meeting our every need. I can't thank them enough for making the day so easy. Though I live an hour away from Sassafras, I'm already planning my next visit to have that high tea again!More

I ordered 2 takeaway kids napoli’s and when I got home I was shocked as to how much oil they put on the pasta especially in a kid’s meal!! Despite the pasta serving being small (even for a kids meal) the oil was just disgusting....I actually had to drain all the oil and butter an place the pasta on paper towels to absorb the excess I wouldn’t feed my kid that if you paid me. Extremely upset and disappointed. Photo attached of all the oil and butter I poured out into a glassMore

My father and I dined here after visiting the Dandenong ranges, and we were both impressed with how delicious the food was! He got the lamb I got the porterhouse and both were divine-seriously top tier food. I also recommend the tea, it is delicious,...and comes with pure heavy cream on the side. Will definitely re-visit this place.More

Had a great 3 course meal here. True restaurant quality food and service. Attentive and personable staff and encouraged to take our time. Wine list is a bit small and could be increased. Ambiance and surrounds of old church lent a nice touch. Hope to...return again soon.More

We visited Sunday night just before Christmas and it was quiet that night as expected. The service and food was excellent. Prices were good for a venue of this type with 3 courses for about $60 each excl drinks. The building is an old church...which has been extended at the back and a mezzanine installed.More
