Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place DOES NOT EXIST anymore. They've just left their ads and socials in place, but there is no Tin Cup Cafe at this address since January 2023. No one answers the phone if you all, no answer to emails, they simply do not exist...here.More

Yesterday I rang to book a table for 3, thinking this would be the correct protocol, but was told no just walk in it would be fine. Today we came for breakfast - Table 31 - ordered 3 large coffees and 3 breakfasts. There was...only 10 or so other dinners in the cafe at this time. We came in our hobby car and bought an out of town visitor to show off our local historical cafe. I did explain too my friend the cafe can serve slow, and even explained that we love to support the local business and keep them going and so we were prepared for this. We received our coffees within 20mins - My husband mug still had a lot of red lipstick on it, which we did not complain about. He drank from the other side of the mug.??? Way past an hour the junior assistant came nervously to advise our order had been “put out of order” and we would need to wait another 20 mins as they had not started making any of our food order. We opted to leave and get a refund. At the counter the more senior waitress, was non apologetic and Saying oh your #31 - proceed to give me a cash refund for our meals only. Her attitude was very disappointing and I this made me feel like I had messed up her day. When in fact it was our morning that was now in disarray as we would need to go home and make breakfast for our visitor. I mentioned it might be an option to refund us our coffees as well, by which the waitress replied, "well you sat here and drank them, Why would I refund those too". The coffees cost $18 and at this point your little cafe lost me forever. My family and friends have come to the Tin Cup Cafe many times and had to wait, on one of these times we were all offered additional coffee as compensation. We have always returned to support this cafe. In my mind the most senior waitress should have come to our table and apologised herself, not send the junior to do the dirty work. In my mind we should have complained about the lipstick on the coffee mug. In my mind the apologies should have flowed and some compensation offered. For the price of our 3 coffees $18 - this is not a good Sunday outing.More

Had coffee, scones & savoury muffins. The scones were huge & very nice. The savoury muffin was very tasty however the coffee was very bitter. The staff were lovely and the location inside the historical village was very unique.

We were so excited to visit the Historical Village and wanted to start our visit with lunch at the Cafe. We ordered two meals of fish and chips with salad. We would have preferred crumbed fish but they only had battered. No worries, we went...ahead with our order and took our seat to wait for our meals. There was a small tour group that were also at the cafe and had already ordered their meals ahead of us. We were not informed there might be a wait in getting our meals. We ended up waiting almost an hour before our meals came out. Not once did a staff member come out and apologise for the delay or mention that there could be a long wait. Our meal was average, the fish was caked in batter and we had to scoop out what fish we could find. We were feeling deflated by this time. If we hadn't paid for our meals we would have cancelled our order and left.More

My husband and I wanted a nice breakfast out together since we don't do it often. We decided on the Historical Village Cafe for convenience and we hadn't been before. It was welcoming, clean and a lovely atmosphere on the deck. The food was delicious,...fresh, and well priced. The coffee was delicious too! We will go back and take the kids next time since it isn't overpriced.More

Attended this cafe with 3 friends to celebrate a 70th birthday. Ordered the high tea. The food was so delicious and fresh a wonderful variety of sandwiches, savouries and sweets more than enough for the 4 off us. All this was served in beautiful crockery,...the service by Jemma Bella and Tania was exceptional they made us feel very special, nothing was to much trouble. A wonderful time had by all. Our first visit and we would come back. It is set on an old railway platform, plenty of well spaced seating overlooking the gardens. A lovely quiet location. The service was friendly and the food was very tasty. We went for breakfast, which was well...presented and the coffee was lovely. My only negative was about the signage, from the road it was a small A-frame sign, as we didn't know it was on the ground of the Historical Village. Even on-site, another small A-frame sign down the drive beckoned you toward the cafe. There is parking either on the road or, if you're unable to walk far, there is parking on-site and not far from the cafe. It seems to be a good 'meet up' place and maybe for a 'high tea' birthday/celebration treat.More

We opted for this option for a Saturday morning breakfast - what a mistake. There were two other tables already seated. With a total of about 10 people. We ordered, sat down and waited and waited and waited. We ended up waiting 90mins for avo...on toast and bacon and eggs, tea and a coffee. There were people who arrived after us that seemed to get their meals before us which was a little annoying. Chef came out and spoke to us to apologise claiming new staff, training happening in the kitchen, being very busy (phtt!) and offering us a complimentary coffee which would have been nice if we were able to find the person who was suppose to make it for us - she was no where in sight. Food FINALLY arrived and it also was a disappointment. There was a small container of grey looking mushrooms that was absolutely swimming in what I can only assume to be butter. A small container of warmed backed beans, I had ordered poached eggs and ended up with fried but I was past the point of caring so accepted it as we just really wanted to leave, bacon which was inedible (not sure why but had a funky taste and was impossible to cut with a knife), toast and butter. Opted to finish off a very disappointing meal with the toast and butter only to find that the butter was liquid - yes, literally liquid. Got up and left - like I said, waste of time and money!!More

As this cafe is inside the Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum I think you will have to pay the entry to access the cafe. But the village and museum are well worth the entry fee.
