Lovely food and service. Nice beer too. Used to be dump back in the 80s, but a few good managers later and now saved from the brink. For any pub to survive these days - this is what it takes.

We were staying close by for a few days and The Plough was recommended by our B and B. It did not disappoint! We each had a different dish and all 3 of us thought they were excellent. The buttery mash with the liver and onions rated a "best mash I've ever tasted" an the rare rack of lamb was... More

We have eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. The menu is small but a great selection. If you like a good steak this is the place for you.

A nice glass of IPA and a Sauvignon Blanc set off the evening well. The food that followed was really good: slow roasted belly of pork melted in the mouth and the vegetarian dish had some taste with interesting flavours. Where we were originally sitting was quite noisy, sandwiched between two parties (having a really good time!), so the waitress... More

Every time we visit the plough there is a warm welcome and a pleasant atmosphere. Food is excellent and there is a varied choice. My birthday boy chose to come to the Plough and what a great choice. Love the place and people. Keep up the great work...

We came on a Monday as we know weekends and evenings get busy. Nice pint of Wadworths 6X to get us in the mood and we went straight for mains. My shoulder of lamb was excellent and the 'liver' and 'ham egg and chips' went down just as well. The owners and staff were friendly and very helpful. This is... More

There's not enough words to describe how amazing this pub is! The food is always to a high standard and is very well presented on the plate. Some might say it's over expensive, but wouldn't you rather pay that little bit extra for more on your plate and better quality? The roast dinner is to die for! You just try... More

My Husband and I enjoyed a nice romantic dinner the first weekend of February. As we have many dietary stipulations (we are healthy eaters and Pescetariens). As there were just a few vegetarian/Pescetarien (fish) options, we felt a bit uncomfortable but decided to ask if we can have the dishes cooked in a more healthier way e.g Baked (rather then... Another excellent meal at The Plough Inn, beautifully cooked scallops for starters, followed by sea bass on a bed of smooth potato mash enhanced with onion and then the most heavenly pavlova. My husband had a very juicy sirloin steak on the bone followed by marmalade bread and butter pudding which he said was delicious. Very attentive staff, very nice... More
