We visited Ristorante Pappagallo last night as part of our honeymoon trip. The ambience is amazing. There is an indoor dining room as well as a screened in outdoor dining room overlooking the small nature reserve pond area. The waitstaff are super friendly and very attentive. This is not an inexpensive restaurant buy for the Cayman Islands it is pretty... More

We had a wonderful meal tonight. Every single person enjoyed their meals. I disagree with the previous reviewer about dining with children. I think that it greatly depends on the children. My daughters (7 and 10) choose the lobster ravioli and the pumpkin ravioli. Both loved their meals. The adults had the lobster and shrimp, the snapper special and the... More

Very beautiful setting. The food was very good. Big portion of pasta that I couldnt finish. But we had teenagers who didnt appreciate the true cuisine offered, ordered plain pasta, etc. Too expensive for them really. We should have gone as couples. The waiter was snitty about splitting the check, but seriously we had 5 different families. You cant just... More

This restaurant was recommended by locales and it did not disappoint. We had too many great choices on the menu and our waiter Luco made a tailor made "Tasting menu" for our perfect evening. Although we dined very early it was wonderful to have the time to enjoy the ambiance and treatment.

We loved this restaurant. We had great food, service & quality menu choices. The chef is amazing! The great welcome we received was appreciated, and our waiter was amazing. The food was superb (I don't say that often)...and I can't wait to go back next year! I'd like to come back in the daytime and sit outside.

We have been here several times for dinner and it never disappoints, the staff is friendly and the food was excellent. It is definitely a drive to get to but it is worth it and the atmosphere is nice if you get a table outside.

When you go to Pappagallo you always find good food and good service. Lots of options for all palates, from seafood to steak. However, this time I got the nicest surprise when the menu was handed to me at the beginning of my dinner and I FOUND A VEGAN SECTION! Thank you so much for this! When you are vegan... More

We had heard from many that this is their favorite restaurant on island. It is a lovely restaurant in the middle of a bird sanctuary at end of West Bay. The staff are so friendly and we were introduced to Humphrey Bogart the resident parrot. Food was delicious especially the home made pasta dishes.

Description
On crossing the wooden bridge that leads to Ristorante Pappagallo, you will see swimming beneath there are sleek silvery tarpon, always on the lookout for scraps from the kitchen. You are thus, thrown into a world of the exotic, even before reaching the front door! Then, as you enter the spacious foyer, you're met at the front door by an African gray parrot, humorously called Humphrey Bogart. He is one of the oldest Pappagallo employees with over ten years experience in welcoming guests and posing for photos (especially with the little ones!). You will then immediately notice the inviting and well-stocked bar, decorated in an art deco style, where customers can take pre-dinner drinks or enjoy an after dinner drink in a cool and inviting atmosphere. On your right hand side, lies one of our two dining rooms, the Pappagallo Room. Inside, the impressive high ceiling will grab your attention, with its typical Mexican-style thatching. Wrought iron lights gently illuminate the air-conditioned room and huge glass-fronted bird cages feature all around the walls housing live parrots, macaws, cockatoos and African grays, all vying for your attention. The walls are also decorated with colorful pictures of parrots and a giant turtle shell which came from a 500 pound green sea turtle, which was raised in Cayman at West Bay's Turtle Farm. All this, and a great view of the waterfall cascading into the lagoon directly outside the room... how can you possibly forget that you are dining in a tropical paradise? On your left hand side of the foyer is the Flamingo Room, also with a fabulous thatched roof, this time in a traditional Cayman style. The entire roofing used 100,000 fronds and took over 6 months to construct - no mean feat. The Flamingo Room is left open to catch the cooling breeze, but is air-conditioned when the weather dictates. Here, you can enjoy a fabulous panoramic view over the lagoon. Large prints of flamingos decorate the walls and again, wrought iron lights lend their soft glow.Beyond this room lies a third eating area, the Garden Patio, a large screened- in porch where diners eat al fresco during the cooler winter months. This also has a magnificent lagoon view and Pappagallo usually caters for large parties & weddings here.
