Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
Wonderful collection. Smaller setting. Can actually stop, look, and enjoy the many pieces (unlike the busy, overcrowded larger museums). Highly recommend, especially for those that prefer smaller settings.
Took this brief trip on the tramway mainly because it's there. Would liked to have had a walk around the island but it was pouring with rain and I wasn't suitably dressed.
Very smooth and efficient service and a great thing for the island.
Recently visited the Neue Galerie for the first on a Saturday afternoon in February. It is conveniently located across the street from the Metropolitan Museum. Unfortunantly their third floor gallery was closed so only one gallery was open, and they only charged a "suggested donation".Thankfully we were able to see Klimt's Woman in Gold, so we were happy, albeit we...
This small museum always has terrific exhibits—out of the run-of-the-mill mainstream, intelligently and creatively curated and informative. I discover something new at each visit. Their Leonard Cohen exhibition was beyond! Their shop is wonderful, filled with so many items that I want as gifts for friends and myself!. And delicious food at their restaurant.
Always such a great experience here! The staff are so kind and attentive, ready and waiting to give you excellent advice on sake. The ramen is INCREDIBLE, and I really love the happy hour food selections - diverse and incredibly inexpensive for the area.
We had an outstanding dinner in Daniel last week for my birthday. Food is exquisite, staff are wonderful and the restaurant itself is stunning. Really appreciated the birthday cake that they surprised me with - such a lovely touch. Expensive but so worth it :-)
This tiny little shop on 2nd Av, just up from 86th is an icon. Definately some of the best cheese cake you will find in NY. Also known for its cupcakes. If you ar in the area, and you have a sweet tooth, a must!!

We sat for early drinks before dinner and found the the whole place captivating
Not realising there was so much history to the bar before our arrival
The wall murals are truly interesting and the live music bolsters the setting further
Overall feel of the place was very upbeat with everyone enjoying the mood
We got talking to another patron,...
Up Thai is fantastic. I first came here a couple of years ago and wasn't too enamored with the Pad Thai I had, which I found too mushy and orange and not that tasty, but have since been back several times. The food is fantastic - I've had the chicken satay and Pad see ew, both of which are great,...
The service at the Pierre is unparalleled. I have been staying at this property for years & I love it more each time. The restaurant is so unbelievably good and definitely deserves a visit. It is an older property but they have done a fabulous job with updating the rooms. The bathrooms are GORGEOUS. The room service is fantastic. The...
We always have a wonderful stay at The Regency; it feels like home. The check-in process takes seconds. Rosina at the front desk is amazing, so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Our room, with a beautiful view of Park Avenue, was perfect in every way. The housekeeping is impeccable. We love the food and the friendly waitstaff at The Regency Bar...
Great and stunning ambience , great cocktail menu , had the spaghetti in tomorrow sauce , such a simple dish and so well done. Classy and élégant with an intimate ambience and I will definitely be back
From the doorman to the concierge and reception this place has the service you would expect and want from a hotel. I had a stressful event ( that had nothing to do with the hotel) at 2am. Marion from reception and Carlos could not have been more understanding and accommodating. Their actions made me feel like they cared about my...
Outstanding experience from the moment we arrived until we departed. Checking in was fast and efficient, 1 Bedroom Apartment was well appointed, comfortable, and fully outfitted for an extended stay. Cleanliness of not only our apartment but the hotel overall is a testament to the Housekeeping Staff. Bellman cheerful and helpful. Overall Garden Suites Hotel by Affinia is a 10+.
