South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
This is a great place to relax in the middle of downtown. Surrounded by tall and swanky buildings, people often working professionals even city residents come here to relax during the busy hours. Lots of greenery and place to sit. Great restaurants as well nearby.
This large center, spread over three buildings, connect by above and underground walkways can handle any size group. It is conveniently located to hotels, Union Square,
restaurants (both upscale and quick grab); public transportation and parking. The signage is very good, both in street signs pointing to the location and within the buildings themselves. The bathrooms were plentiful and clean.
What an awesome place to have lunch and visit friends. The food is so delicious and the servers and staff are outstanding. There is a wonderful story to how this place got started and you must visit to hear the incredible and inspiring story for yourself. It is located on the Embacadero and the atmosphere is very pleasant.
Loved it! Lively atmosphere, buzzy, noisy and clearly great place to be. Great pizza.
Everyone seems to know Massimo (owner) who he gave me a superb welcome.and showed me the new bar next door
Will be back, hopefully less than the 28 yrs it took me to come back from last time!
This is a great small place for a meal with friends.
Great atmosphere, decor, and the food is fresh with an innovative menu.
I am a pizza lover (seriously, I do order pizza for dessert sometimes), and this place has a unique recipe that is unlike your ordinary pizza.
The special dough gives it a nice texture and consistency, and...
"Beyond a Michelin Star Rating... the Other Items Should Align"
reviewed 4 weeks ago by Just T
Restaurants receive Michelin star(s) for the quality of their food - NOT the decor, table setting, or quality of service. Mourad's Michelin star rating in the food department was why we found ourselves there in the first place, but for me - it's those other things that aren't considered that must also "align" to gain top marks in my book....
We were in San Francisco last week and spent 4 nights in at the Four Seasons. From the time of our arrival the staff was very professional and welcoming. Housekeeping was exceptional and anticipated our every need. We did not go to the dining room because of the evolving situation but we did spend a little time at the bar...
I stayed here on a trip to San Francisco to visit friends and was immediately impressed by the hotel. Their staff from the valet to front desk were very friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations of places in the area as well. The room was beautiful, definitely worth it to spend the little extra for the room with a view...
"Outstanding hotel, great service, reasonable price"

IMO this is the best option if you want to stay in this area of SF. We prefer smaller hotels with some character and this one was perfect. Prices were also very reasonable for the area and the service was great. It is an updated older building so the rooms are a bit smaller but they are nicely modernized. Ours...
Hotel Via defines the modern “boutique hotel” experience in San Francisco. The booking process on-line was efficient and intuitive. When I had questions about my accommodations, I was able to reach a live person on the phone at the hotel lobby desk within seconds of calling. Loading and unloading were simple, as the main entrance is located on a side...
"Five Star Deluxe Hotel, but due to location it felt like a tourist class/ convention hotel"
reviewed 1 week ago by christophergA8961WY
We spent 3 nights at the St Regis in San Francisco , but would not return. The hotel is 1 block away from the massive SF Convention center and was packed when we arrived with conventioneers...loud and intoxicated 2 of the 3 nights we were there. The lunch and breakfast was decent if a bit limited. The service at the...
