From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighbourhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolise this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
A dinner visit to Puerto Madero had us walking the entire area. We viewed and appreciated the bridge as well as the entire area along the waterway.
A wonderful and upscale part of BA we enjoyed the shops, views, and numerous restaurants.
Situated in Puerto Madero this naval training ship built in 1899 has been beautifully preserved with its original features. Plenty nautical items of the period, old photos and the chance to look into an officer's cabin and the engine room. An interesting video about the Argentinian navy. Entry is a very modest 10 peso donation towards the upkeep of the...
We found this ship by accident and we're thrilled to find that it had been built in the Cammell Laird shipyard in Birkenhead Uk which is my home town. The men in charge were interested to hear this and were very helpful in showing us around. The boat is kept in beautiful condition and it is really interesting to read...
Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve is remarkably close to the Commercial centre of BA. So, the variety of wildlife came as a considerable surprise. It has a variety of habitats and the outstanding animal for me was the Argentine black and white tegu (Salvator merianae) - a large monitor like iguana. The first we saw was 2 metres long and took...

"Nice for a Hotel Restaurant"

I only had one meal here so I cannot speak to the restaurant overall. I arrived from a flight and had lunch immediately upon arrival. I ordered grilled chicken with salad and it was delicious. The service was attentive.

"Innovative tasting menu"
reviewed 2 weeks ago by David H
This restaurant has a great view of the canal and outstanding, attentive service. The tasting menu was the only option for dining and could be done with wines to match. While relatively costly, it was marvelous with some highly unusual combinations of flavors and textures. The cocktails are excellent and the options for wine, all Argentinian, were diverse and ranged...
The Hotel Faena is incredibly gorgeous, even against the backdrop of Puerto Madero. Bistro Sur was an over-the-top evening experience: crazy beautiful and whimsical decor, solicitous and genuinely friendly service, and tasty food. My only complaint is that I wished it could have lasted longer!

"Landmark restaurant, with excellent cuisine, upgraded décor, & gaucho-dressed servers"
reviewed 2 days ago by KodoDrummer
I have been dining at the Puerto Madero location since it moved to this location in 1999. Since my last visit, the restaurant has been substantially renovated. The chairs are now padded and much nicer, new tables, new cutlery, the linen is new and much more. On an overall basis, everything seems to have gone upscale. Food prices have increased,...
Wonderful atmosphere, very good service. What I do not like is that portions are enormous and you always have to share a dish for two or even three.
If you want to taste something different, it is a waste of food.
Other than that it is pretty good
Great hotel. Room was exceptionally large, with windows on two sides - one facing a courtyard, the other onto a side street. The bed was very comfortable with a super sized king. Facilities within the room were good. The room we had was one that could be converted to a twin room - this meant that we could hear guests...
I stayed here 3 years ago when it was quite new. The hotel certainly have seen a lot of ware in the past 3 years but it still is stylish and nice.
We stayed twice during our trip interspaced by tours to Patagonia.
We used the hotel car service for the fist trip - but found it to be way...
Rojo Tango is as 1920's teleported to your gaze as ever in our contemporary times with the seductive decor and fine Malbec wine. Easy to tear inspired with the ultimate passion of Tango and the integrity of this marvel of an architectural and interior design, transmitted flawlessly as far as also their establishments in Miami Beach!
Still has new hotel feel - everything is crisp, perfect drapes, floor corners, shining floors. Service is courteous and at beckoning call - don’t expect to be asked, you must ask for what you need. Our junior suite was basically a premium room - hardly worth the upgrade. Call ahead for taxi service at night if you are going out....
