Love impressionist art so was eager to see this place, recommended in Lonely Planet guide book. I made a special trip to Tianzifang to find it and found the building where it was supposed to be located but then went up and down three floors before I was finally told that the gallery had closed last year.
Bear in mind you need to have at least some appreciation of northern Chinese cuisine, which bears little, if any, resemblance to UK Chinese Takeaway food. Predominately veg based with little meat and fish. We had one or the other alternate nights.
Unusually the restaurant were tolerant of us bringing our own wine which made meals more enjoyable.
Restaurant that seems like local restaurant specializes to fish dishes. There are few good combinations like blood rise sausage and grilled dishes, but nothing screamed I must visit again.
Place was packed with locals so which will mean the quality is better than average.
I stayed here overnight as I needed to catch an early train the next day. The hotel is inside of the Hongqiao train station/airport so it's extremely convenient for travelers. The room was clean, beautiful, and had decent wifi, showers, and so on. The breakfast buffet was excellent and I look forward to staying here again the future.
This hotel is located close the Jiunting Metro Station, may be a 5 min drive, ... some small petty shops are located in the First Floor level.
