The neighborhood is divided into two major halves by Krasnaya Presnya street: the southern part highlights Moscow city – businesses contained in skyscrapers along with the White House - where the Russian government works. The north is a bit more relaxed and casual, visitors here will find the Moscow zoo, National Centre for Contemporary Arts and a number of fine restaurants. The beautiful neo-gothic Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is usually packed with the events such as organ music concerts.
The museum is very small, but for people who is familiar with Bulgakov will find many interesting things there. There are just 3 rooms and one cafe, but guide can help you to understand what history behind this book written by Bulgakov. You can play on the piano and try famous drinks from the cafe.
This lake is surrounded by a very small park in the center of Moscow. In the winter time, it freezes over and people go ice skating on it. You can often find people jogging around the perimeter of the lake. There are may good restaurants and cocktail places nearby.
I had always enjoyed reading stories of Russian authors and their description of the people, places, palaces, royalty etc. My trip to Moscow in May 2019 was a story that came alive for me. The grand old palaces at almost every turn of the road, the grand old and new buildings, the parks in the middle of every square, the...
This is easy to get to. I headed for the nearby shopping mall where I purchased my ticket; getting to the lift entrance was not difficult as there are lots of staff around to guide you. It’s probably stating the obvious but only go when the weather is good or in the evening when the city is lit up. It’s...
I was there a couple of times, first time it was a wedding of my friends and service was very high!
Next times I was with my boyfriend. We had a very nice waiter, she was always behind us and watched for the level of wine. So, if you want to have a really nice dinner with high-level service -...

Moscow is my home town even though I am not Russian. Was in Moscow for a very short business trip. I missed a lot good Russian soup and good Russian simple food... Found it there. Borsch freshly cooked, pilmeni hand made. Vodka not expensive. Excellent location. Young and professional staff. Recommend!
I’ve been dining and wining at this wonderful restaurant for about 6 months. Great team, attentive service, wisely priced wine and good food.
It has not really disappointed me, with an exception of two occasions:
- when a male waiter pet a dog while serving my lunch;
- when I’ve heard a Chief talking down to a wonderful staff...
If you have a conference at the Expo Centre, stay at Novotel - easy 5 min walk. Next to a big mall and located in the business centre of Moscow.
Spacious rooms, choose city view - a must, otherwise the other side you are closed-in and look direct into offices.
Not much staff, but somehow it works - reception very...
The Assambleya Nikitskaya was perfect for my four-night stay to attend a conference in February 2020. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable and all parts of the hotel are spotlessly clean. A simple breakfast was included in the room charge. This was my fourth visit to Moscow, but I'm still determined to get to Red...
Nice hotel in quite street, easy walking distance to Metro, and many restaurants and cafes. 25 minute walk to the Kremlin. We had a huge room that consisted of a separate sitting room, bathroom and large bedroom with a king size bed. 2 TV's, mini bar, couch, table and chairs. The room was a little dated but very clean and...
A great location in a small back road, only a 15 min walk from Red Square.
Reception: very friendly and helpful, good English
Rooms: very nicely equipped, plenty of cupboard space / very nice bathroom
Breakfast: very good
WiFi: toooo complicated, email registration --> then you can log in
Overall: to be highly recommended!
Firstly the location is the best in Moscow for a tourist...central and aristocrat!!At the other side this hotel has the glamour of the past 50 + years but now a renovation is a need. The more unacceptable thing is that there is not any blind curtains and specially through the eastern windows the sun is coming to the room awaking you...
